We love having dinner here! The service and food is always excellent. From start to finish the food is flavorful and the wine list is perfect :) we enjoy talking with Chef T . Thanks for a wonderful night !
The service was abysmal. Waited fifteen minutes for the server to ask if we wanted drinks. Another fifteen minutes to ask for our order.
The veal Marsala was mediocre.
The stuffed veal was very good as were the vegetables.
The server, slightly, redeemed themselves with...the wine recommendation.More
My husband and I came here before our show at the Kennedy Center. Our Server was very oddly behaved almost as if we were bothering him. The food and wine was very good. Recommend the Bistecca di primo tablio, pappardelle del presidente, and bacio napoli....But he gave me the creeps.More
Under the same Head for years, this Italian restaurant has maintained the highest standard of delicious food. My last meal was in 2012 and I came back today 7 years later and was pleasantly surprised by the consistency and decent upkeep of the facility.
The...Gattinara red was simply the best for those who enjoy Merlot.More
While the restaurant has a nice ambiance and the service is fair, we were not impressed overall. I don’t mind paying good money for a good meal-but here you pay good money for an average meal. Calamari was a joke with about 15 small rings...for 20 bucks. Lentil soup had no flavor. Special of snapper stuffed with crabmeat (where was it?) and spinach (too much) was about 4 bites plus a small saucer size spaghetti (no flavor) for $38. Again, had the quality and taste been better...might have been able to overlook the price and quantity-sadly that’s not the case. Wine is way overpriced for the brands offered. Sorry but this was our second and last visit.More
An elegant locale at the edge of Georgetown, La Perla is a good choice for a special evening. The menu is extensive in both variety and prices. The slant is Italian but there is much here beyond pasta and risotto and the usual Italian fare....The dishes are well prepared. The gnocchi are clearly home made as they lack the uniformity of the mas produced type. Portions are appropriate, not the usual gargantuan sizes often offered. If you value your meal by the weight this is not a place for you. The wine list is excellent, offering selections for any taste or food. Prices are reasonable for the quality and location. Definitely a good value and a repeat for us. The owner/chef, Vittorio Testa, does stop by to ensure all is well, a good practice that more owners or managers should replicate.More
Come on, a restaurant where the owner and head chef visits each and every table over during the night and talks to his clients about their experience and how they found their food!
Surely these establishments no longer exist, Vittorio Testa you are an absolute...legend!
The Antipasto del Presidente and Diamanti Di Granchio were a brilliant beginning to my wife and my dining experience. My wife couldn't find enough superlatives to describe the Anitra ai Frutti, the ducling was perfectly cooked and she was really impressed with the orange sauce, My Fileto Bue Da Vinci was magnificent and cooked exactly to my desire which was charred outside , blue inside.Kudos to our wait staff who seemed to have an intimate knowledge of the winelist and perfectly matched the wine to our food.
This restauarant isn't cheap but anyone who doesn't visit this restaurant when in Washington DC is letting their palate down.More
The entrance to the restaurant suggests the entrance to a beautiful residence -- small flower garden, patio. Inside, a tasteful decor and well-spaced out tables. We had the branzino and venison, both of which were cooked at the right temperature and with herbs that would...enhance the taste. The wine list has a good range. The service was attentive without being obtrusive.More
