If you want a burger and want to sit outside and leave the snobs in Georgetown then come here. Great staff and great drinks and no B.S.

Small but relaxing atmosphere for winding down. The talent ranges from poetry, singing, and jazz. The food is okay. I had the turkey burger, however I found it dry. The place has outside patio for spring and summer evenings, but most of the entertainment is upstairs.

I hadn't eaten at Mr. Henry's in probably 15 years. On a recent trip to DC, I suggested it as a place for a good lunch on Capitol Hill. I was disappointed to say the least. The menu is varied enough, but the food is basic at best. The service was not great. The ambiance was ok, but I don't... More

We visited here on a Tuesday night and found the restaurant fairly busy. Too cool for outside seating, but appears to have a number of tables for those warmer days. Service is polite and prompt. The menu has a number of gourmet burgers as well as other traditional American fare. The food is genuinely good. I hear the place has... More

Visited mr Henry for brunch with friends. Service was awful. Slow, waitress was incompetent. Eventually food came. Steak and eggs. Steak was disgusting and cold. Sent it back, and to my surprise the manager came to complain arguing the plate was hot. Maybe, but the food was cold. Never had to argue that. Attention to food allergies: zero. Will never... More

My husband and I lucked out by getting the last table for the Saturday night jazz show. The service from the host, wait staff, bar tenders was the best we've ever experienced - great efficient teamwork while making each guest feel like they're the only one in the place. The food was excellent - the grilled salmon salad and the... More

We were heading to another restaurant when we happened upon Mr. Henry's. Arrive right at shift change so service was a little delayed. However, once things got rolling, had a great relaxing visit, good food & a tasty Rite cocktail. Our server was fun and very attentive.

This bar where Roberta Flack got her start performing is still around, still neighborhood friendly, with unusually healthy bar food.

This restaurant has been on Capitol Hill for decades. On a visit to DC I just had to come here one more time for dinner. I had the Grilled Pork Chop which was a Cider marinated chop, with red potatoes and fresh vegetables served with an apple chutney. For dessert I had the great classic carrot cake. The total bill... For over three decades, I've been heading here with an assortment of friends for a generous cooked-to-order delicious burgers. Fresh toppings, cole slaw and special kettle chips finish off the platters. A wide range or beers is the perfect compliment. There are also big salads and daily specials on offer. The recent facelift has kept the collection of early American... More
