My family ate at this resturant. My dish was over cooked and dry. Their food was cooked well and delicious. I would be careful about dishes that are fried.

Our second visit to Cafe Berlin was nothing short of perfect. Again, the food was hand made and prepared to order, delightfully laid out, and simply delicious. I eagerly await my next visit to DC and Cafe Berlin!

We stopped by after a tour of the Capitol. It is an easy walk from both Union Station and the Capitol. This restaurant has a small outdoor seating area which is quaint. The indoor ambience was just "ok" and small. The food was good but not great. My weiner shnitzel was a little over cooked but the sausages, wursts, pretzels,... More

We stopped by here for an easy dinner with our 4 1/2 year old daughter. We are sorry it took us so long to visit! Great German menu of schnitzels, sausages and other home-made treats. Great beer selection. Great service.

Sound, but not crazy good German food. Excellent salads. Pretty good, but not great, schnitzel. Good spätzle. GREAT outdoor seating. Crazy expensive given the return. Very good beer.

This restaurant is near Union Station. We walked there from the Metro. It's in a row of what appears to be houses turned restaurants. They each have al fresco dining in the front garden, however, being a warm, muggy day, we chose to sit inside. The service is impeccable, the food is first rate, and the selection of German beers... This place is always amazing! We have been coming here for 7 years, and as always the food, service, drink are always top notch. We always and highly recommend this place to everyone we meet. From the smile at the door, to the smile at the end the employee's make you feel part of the family.

As a fan of German cuisine, I will say the food here was "ausgezeignet." Our party had a variety of appetizers, soups, entrees and desserts and it was all outstanding. Portions were substantial and the prices were very reasonable, especially for Washington. The cafe itself is cozy and warm. German beer on draft adds to the experience. Wait staff was... More

While in DC for five days we have visited a variety of restaurants. What I like most about this one is a combination of the food and service. The food is outstanding (and that coming from someone whose family owns a German restaurant in another state), but we also had a great server. I suggest making reservations (which we did... More

Coming from German heritage I was interested to try their food. We saw that this place got some nice reviews, so we tried it out on our recent trip to DC. We weren't disappointed. Service was slow, but they had limited staff and were especially busy for a Monday evening. (All's forgiven!). There were four in our party, we enjoyed... More
