We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. The food and service were excellent and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a great German meal.

The name Cafe Berlin tells you a lot and is in keeping with this nice German cafe near the capital. We were here during an unseasonably warm evening in February. It was nice enough that we were able to eat in the patio in front, which is itself a pleasant setting along Massachusetts Avenue. They have two menus, both with,... More

Okay, being in a stranger in a city with no reservations on Valentine's Day, left me thinking I might have to go to McDonalds! :( Valentine's Dinner is often a limited selection, at inflated prices (but what we do to please our ladies), but I was pleasantly surprised! Not only did they make room for me only after a short... More

We went here on a recommendation from a co-worker. The service was outstanding, and the food was well prepared. We both tried different schnitzels and both were delicious. They have a good selection of beers on draft, the Warsteiner pilsner was clean, crisp, and fresh. We will definitely return on future visits to DC.

I have been here 4 times for dinner and my expectations were exceeded each and every time. I did not think I liked German Food! For me, being able to walk here is awesome, because there are not a ton of great restaurants in my neighborhood (although that is slowly starting to change). The prices are fair and the beer... My family went to dinner here following the presidential inauguration, as we spent the afternoon only a block away at the Heritage Foundation. It was around 4:30 and the place was just rotating out its diners when we came, so we got to pick our table (we chose the table in the front window alcove). We enjoyed the selection of... More

Love Cafe Berlin. Great schnitzel and sauerbraten. They even authentically are annoyed by the French restaurant next door!

Hubby had been here before and wanted to go again for the Sauerbrauten. I tasted his and it was very good. I was glad for the chance to try the game menu. I had venison, which the server said was his favorite. It was some of the tenderest meat I've ever eaten. I also learned about a "marrow spoon." I'd... More

My wife is from Germany, so we know and love German food. The menu features all of our German favorites and then some. The separate menu featuring wild game was a real treat. The restaurant is charming, cozy, and made us feel right at home. There's of course an excellent beer selection, but we enjoyed the German wine. I recommend... More

I had the pilsner and the veal. It was melt in your mouth delish! Place was packed so I sat at the bar and chatted with strangers. Had a great time!
