Don't be fooled by the name, this place has great, fresh food in a very wide variety. I think you could eat here every day for a month and not have the same thing twice. I enjoy the bento boxes for convenience when I get to go food. I've been many times and it's always fresh and always good. Don't... More

This is the go to place for us if we need a place close to the archives Metro Stop. The food is consistently good, healthy and filling. The choices are excellent and the service is fast.

They do offer great cookies! and delicious asian dishes.. expect to line up at lunch/ dinner, prices are very reasonable and service average... you pay, you pick up the food and you find seating. Mostly vegetarian

Was meeting some friends for lunch near chinatown. After going back and forth, we settled on Teaism since most of the other places were heavy foods. Ordered one of the Black Bean bento box which had no meat (was not deliberate - just looked good). It was a refreshing change from a salad during a hot summer day. Would recommend... More

Having eaten here repeatedly over the past few years, I was disappointed by my most recent meal. Conveniently located in Penn Quarter, I stopped in after a visit to a museum exhibit on the Mall. The tempeh burger was a poor choice; two mammoth slabs of tempeh on peculiarly dense heavy bread with a pale insipid slice of tomato and... More

Hadn't been in a while. They changed their recipes some, including my usual salmon bento box and I didn't think it was as good. Cookie was a disappointment too--dry and hard. Maybe I was there on an off day...

If you order in, make sure to sit downstairs where it is quiet and secluded with a Koi pond. The menu is decent and the food is good for what is offered.

Lots of tea to choose from as well as menu items for lunch. There were many gluten free and vegan options, even a couple of desserts. It a small eat in place with not much seating. Good for a quick breakfast or lunch on the go.

I can recommend the Salmon bento box, Mango Lassi, Bubble tea, and Ochazuke. I think access to the downstairs bathroom can continue to be enhanced by positioning large events to occur along the farthest wall so as not to have a bottleneck on accessibility. I think the bubble tea could be further enhanced by making sure the lid on the... More

Joe - thanks for the nice review - I'll connect with the chai wallahs - the tea makers - about making sure the lids are on securely. We appreciate all your kind words and for recognizing that Teaism is a value - we are very proud of the quality of the ingredients that we use - and of course we... More

Teaism is a favorite dining spot of mine. The menu is pan-Asian with a healthy dose of vegetarian options. Food is ordered at the counter, then is picked up at the adjacent counter. Seating is available on the main level and also on the lower level. The food is consistently good. My only complaint is the layout. During a busy... More

I'm sorry that the layout is challenging - before we opened we spent a lot of time thinking about the stairs. If you are ever nervous about carrying your tray - you can ask for help - go to the cashier - we are here for you! Linda More
