Stopped in for a quick lunch; wasn't expecting much. Was really surprised by the menu choices and the quality of the food. I had okonomiyaki which, while it's not the same as eating in Japan, was really good! A friend had the curry and gave...it thumbs up, too. I'd definitely go back again.More

After a visit to see the Judy Chicago exhibit at the Women’s Museum, we walked over to Teaism for some light dinner. It has the gestalt if a Starbucks but MUCH better food options, both breakfast and lunch/dinner. I got the Udon Noodle soup with...chicken: tasty and hot...very satisfying with rich noodles. For people who absolutely require very quiet dining space, they have a large downstairs area.More

Best part of the menu - "trash or treasure" - wish every restaurant would do this. Disappointed though - I ordered the "cabbage butts" - I was served bok choy and broccoli. It's okay if they were out of cabbage butts but they should have...said something. I also ordered the salmon belly and collard stems - portion was really small, I thought I would get more stems at least. Everything tasted great. Fantastic selection of teas (obviously) and staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice casual atmosphere, cool Koi pond.More

These guys know what they are doing. Strangely put together dishes which all seem to work. The Korean Brisket Sandwich, Our Dream Salad and the Vegan cheeseburger (in no way am I vegan!!) all hit the mark. The coconut mango rice pudding is ........ seriously...just try it! And the tea! So many, so confusing but if that's your thing, one of these concoctions is as good as the next. I can drink a pot of the stuff with no real idea of what's in it. That's why I say .... these guys know what they're doing.More

We're really touched Brian - thanks for the review. It's so surprising - the number of non-vegans who are in love with the vegan cheeseburger. I hope you'll visit again soon - try the okonomiyaki - it's sooo good.

I'm so glad you found us and enjoyed the salty oat cookies. We bake them here in DC but the lady who developed and perfected the recipe makes them in Cape Cod and she ships - so if you are ever missing them - her...More

My daughter wanted to find a DC tea shop near the hotel. There were 2, one without a tea shop (with tea and tea items) and one without. We obviously, had to visit the one where we could eat and shop. When you walk in...the restaurant you'll find yourself with a seat yourself, go to the counter to order, go to another counter to pick up and even bus your table at the end. Normally, we might not appreciate that type of environment, but it works here. The chef and staff are passionate about the selections and gave each of us a thorough rundown on our food options. And as for the tea...wow, the tastes were all over, from light and airy to dark and heavy. The good news is that each of us ordered a different kind and they made sure we knew which was which when we picked up our meal/tea. Afterward, it's a must to go to the tea shop where you can by the ingredients to brew at home.More

I ordered the Cilantro Scrambled Eggs, and when they came there were uncooked onions and peppers in the eggs and they and my cold Carrot Soup were more salty than I would have liked!
