With the beautiful view of the Capitol, the friendly greeting from the hostess and the pretty interior...I was hoping for a great meal. What the six of us got was a pretty good meal. The service was slow, at one point they completely forgot a bottle of wine we ordered. The wine list is 100% USA. All the above would... More

I went to the place during Restaurant week. I ordered the Shrimp ceviche, tri-tip steak, chocolate cake. The ceviche was correctly made with match taste. The tri-tip steak was very disappointed. I ordered medium. The steak came out medium, outside formed solid color, inside was pink to reddish. The problem was the meat itself, it has too many elastin or... More

My husband & I had lunch today at Charlie Palmer for restaurant week!! The food was amazing, presentation great & the customer service from the dining room manager was EXceptional!! From the time we sat down, she assisted us with order & making a substitution since I do not eat pork. The server we had was ok, I wish we... More

Initial observation was the restaurant was clean, modern and loud. The hostess was pleasant and sat us without delay. Once at the table, we were greeted by our waiter. Due to the loudness of the restaurant it was difficult to understand him. Throughout the meal it was difficult to get assistance for refilling drinks, clearance of empty plates, etc.... It... More

Went for a business dinner here in January. Nice place. Good choices on the menu. Excellent steaks. Also some very good seafood. Would recommend the seafood plater as a starter for larger parties - lost of different seafood appetizers thrown onto a big plater with ice. Worked out well for a party of about 8. Service was fine. Saw Sen.... More

This was by far the best dinner I have had in my entire life! I cannot wait to go back! All of the tables have a great view of the Capitol Building, and ours was fantastic. The wait staff was so incredibly attentive and we literally wanted for nothing. Every course was better than the next. The sides are more... More

This was a frustrating and disappointing experience. Frosty service, very average food, and this place is trying too hard to be hip. The restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night and now I know why. So annoyed.

Great working lunch, fun stop for capital hill crowd and working lunches. Nice choice of private rooms for events.

I went into Charlie Palmer's with pretty high expectations for a group function (about 100 people) and a prix fixe menu. The drinks before were fine, but the set menu was disappointing. Instead of offering choices, the main course was a steak and a salmon. We could not choose how we wanted the steaks cooked and the end result was... More

Visited with a group of friends from Australia. The restaurant is elegant with great views of Capitol Hill which is nearby. Service was attentive. The restaurant has side dining rooms which were full with important politicians and their security. The steaks were superb. As good as I have tasted. My ribeye was sensational. A great restaurant

Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: big, bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Jeffery Russell, a Culinary Institute of America graduate whose interest in agriculture and aquaculture is rooted in his early years living in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood combinations, like Five Spice Carolina Shrimp with Quinoa, Pomegranate, Fennel, Feta and Marcona Almond.

Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood where gathering around the table gets things done in the best possible way. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer's Steak's rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests, offering the city's most impressive view of the Capitol.
