Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Mike Ellis, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood dishes, like Chesapeake Bay Oysters and Soft Shell Crab Fritto Misto. Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer’s Steak’s rooftop terrace can accommodate

Ate here at a business-sponsored dinner meeting. Sides were good, and although my New York steak was tasty, it was VERY tough. Also somewhat noisy. Plenty of other options in downtown DC to choose from...

Although the food quality was decent and atmosphere of the restaurant very pleasant, the extremely bad quality of the service ruins your whole evening. Waiters were not caring, clearly uninterested and inexperienced. For a sommelier to serve you a new wine in a previous glass...More

We were with a large group and started with seafood towers. Delicious! Many of us had steak; I had the filet with crab meat. It melted in my mouth. We had sides such as sautéed mushrooms and onions. I also shared a kale salad. My...More

Good food selection and quality in a great downtown location near major Government building landmarks and the bustling city, with a vibrant atmosphere and excellent service, with one of the challenges being parking, though street parking is available, with some patience.

When in DC and you want to impress, this is your spot. Share the Prime Platter to start with fresh seafood, then go with the New York Strip. Its dry aged and perfectly made if you request medium. A memorable experience.

My steak was a s good as any I have had. The service was professional and attentive, at least until the very end, when the check took a bit long to arrive. The appetizers were delicious, the wine list is excellent, and the desserts should...More

Service outstanding, steaks excellent. The only thing I'd say is I wish the server had suggested wagyu be cooked more than medium rare. It was very stringy. I am a meat lover and ribeye med rare is my thing and wanted to try wagyu. Maybe...More

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here and the fabulous view of the Capital Building. Service was a little slow, probably due to holiday season but the food was excellent. I am choosy about my steak restaurants. Love the ambiance here and the quality of the...More
