I would recommend Capital City to anyone who likes craft beer and good food. I had the Hickory Burger that was excellent! The dipping wasabi sauce for the pretzels was amazing as well! I had the Quincy Street IPA with it, the beer was average, which kept me from giving it a 5 rating.

Visiting from WI and ate there for dinner on 7/24 since it is right across the street from our hotel and was not impressed by the bartender or the server we had. Food was ok, but lets start with the bar. The bartender seemed annoyed at the fact that I wanted to order drinks, she carded me which normally I... More

This was within walking distance to our hotel and my husband is a brew enthusiast, so it was a no-brainer choice. We walked in on a busy Saturday night without a reservation and were seated immediately, as a family of five. Service was impeccable and left us very impressed! This establishment is a finely tuned machine. We never had to... More

Capitol City Brewing Company has a wide variety menu with a great craft beer selection! This downtown D.C. restaurant draws a great crowd from tourists, local offices, and downtown residents. You must try the Pale Rider Ale!

This restaurant reminds me of a Chili's type menu and price point. The bread for the table are pretzels and I would bet they are just those super pretzels from the freezer section of the grocery store, nothing house made. My family ordered the fish and chips, cheese steak, chicken sandwich, and the steak. All were edible but just ok.... More

Called in after a long day, had a 10 minute wait for a table , this was around 6:50 so still a lot of workers having drinks with colleagues, basically an extensive collection of lanyards on display. Got two beers from the bar while waiting , good selection of craft beers. Ended up in a booth only had a light... More

Five of us stopped in for local brew and apps. From 4-7 PM they have several of their menu appetizers on happy hour pricing of $5. We ordered some nachos, southwestern egg rolls (called kegs, I think), and wings. The apps were good for that price point - and the beer selection was pretty good too.

We really enjoyed the experience here. Lively place, good food and house brew. Staff was courteous and on top of things. Prices are very good as well. Would definitely stop in again.

Description
Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brew pub in our nation's capitol since prohibition, thus giving its citizens and its many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest hand-crafted beer in the country. On the front of our menu is the symbol of freedom, the Lady Liberty, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol.

Nestled in the heart of Washington's rejuvenated downtown, this location has become a local landmark for celebrating great beer and food with family and friends. We have always taken great pride in our beer so come in and enjoy a cold pint of our very best and match it to one of the many menu selections tailored to the brews we serve.
