Upon recommendation from a friend that lives local to DC, she suggested we try Baked & Wired. We were a little nervous upon arrival- we got there at 3:40pm to find a huge line, and they close at 4pm! But we made it in and got six cupcakes. The other baked goods were pretty much sold out, but we were still able to get the cupcakes we wanted. The cupcakes were AMAZING. My favorite was the Strawberry Cupcake. Their cupcakes tasted 100% scratch-made and in my opinion, hands down better than Sprinkles or Georgetown Cupcakes. Can’t wait to go back for another round of cupcakes!!

Upbeat, fresh vibe. Although the shop was pretty busy, the staff and ambiance made the morning rush feel light and energized and not chaotic or crowded. The baked goods were excellent and they have a huge variety of breads, cupcakes, bars, macaroons ... you name it. From a harsh critic of frosting, theirs is top notch. Get there early in the morning if you want any of their great quiche or breakfast buns as they sell out fast. Coffee and drink selections were on point -- I am always pleasantly surprised when a coffee shop offers good rooibos tea selections and these were great.

Baked and Wired has cookies, cupcakes, cakes, coffee, and some other pastry options. The treat I recommend is their OMG Bar. It's reminiscent of a deconstructed s'more with caramel and is one of the best treats there. Be prepared for lines out the door year round! The busiest time seems to be around dinner.

terrible and rude service i went to celebrate my birthday by getting 2 cupcakes and the person that handles curbside orders was particularly rude and impatient. i get the covid guidelines and will respect them but i wont accept someone being rude and disrespectful when the guidelines are not made known!! the only reason i stayed was because i already paid online. very dissatisfied

I ordered the pumpkin gingerbread loaf for Thanksgiving. I had been looking forward to a nice, moist loaf. I was very disappointed to get a stale and inedible loaf which I eventually had to throw out. I reached out to Baked and Wired to let them know. After a couple of emails and phone calls I finally got to speak to someone. I offered to bring back the loaf and was met with a very discourteous response that the loaf was freshly baked and their loaves are not for everyone. Buyer Beware!

What happened? Yesterday my wife and I picked up two cupcakes for eating during a movie and independently we came to same conclusion. The cake lacked consistency and flavor. The icing lacked flavor. The whole experience was unremarkable and definitely NOT worth waiting on line for as it once definitely was. Not sure what has changed but we'll not be joining that unjustified line outside any time soon.

...and decided to give it a try. Got the unicorn and strawberry flavors. The cake part is moist and plentiful. (There is a reason they're called "cake cups".) The frosting was fine, but not very plentiful. So, if I had to choose, I'd pick Sprinkles any day - generous, delicious frosting, and just enough cake to make it worth it. Baked and Wired could definitely use more frosting with a better consistency. All in all, if you have to wait in line somewhere, I'd pick Sprinkles...!

We were completely blown away by this place. Their Covid precautions mean that each display cake has its own glass dome. The confections were beautiful and tasted as good as they looked. Fascinating flavour combinations too.

I really don’t get what the attraction is with this place. Firstly it’s confusing where you order with the cakes on one side of the shop and the drinks on the other side of the shop partitioned by a wall. I asked and you can order drinks both sides which then creates a problem in that all drinks order funnel through to the one person who makes them and with the queue of people going out of the door you can imagine the demand on one person. I waited 20 minutes for a tea and simple black coffee (not a matcha latte made with almond milk with extra froth - just a black coffee) with around 20 people just loitering doing the same thing. As for the cupcakes, the pistachio one I ate had not seen a pistachio in its short lifetime. The carrot cake one was marginally better. $24 ?? Vastly overpriced.

This is my favorite place for cupcakes and other baked items. They are always fresh and tasty. The best cupcakes in town, moist with just the right amount of frosting. Anything with Lemon is a favorite of mine and I have a friend who loves their Red Velvet cupcakes. When I go there everyone is welcoming and very easy to deal with.

The mint oreo cupcake is my go to and it never disappoints. I'm happy I have to walk to get there because this cupcake is massive! Only real locals know that Baked and Wired is better than Georgetown Cupcake and Sprinkles. Save yourself time and money and skip the line at Georgetown Cupcake. You will not regret it!

Baked and wired is one of the best bakery’s in the DC area! They are often very busy on the weekend with a very long line, but they end to move quickly and it is well worth the wait. They also have a coffee bar that’s pretty good, but their bakery is spectacular! I love that everything is made from scratch and their flavor combinations are spectacular. Definitely worth the visit. Most people carry out, but there is a small seating area I in the back.

The food was delicious, the cakes were fantastic. However the service was poor - it's split into two, so you queue up for your drinks then again for your cake (which didn't feel customer friendly). The drinks service was ok but not friendly. The two ladies on cake service seemed not to be enjoying their work at all - maybe customer service isn't for them. Maybe we caught them on an off day.

Nothing bad in the four cupcakes I tried - coconut, pistachio, chocolate and strawberry. The pistachio was the one that I most liked. The icing part is good. I was looking for anything lemon-flavored but they didn't have any. The cupcake part was also good - but then again, I was expecting something excellent and extraordinary since there were a lot of people. The strawberry was the least I liked; just something off with the one I had. Not bad, just not the strawberry taste I was expecting. Also, I waited a long time for my 4 cupcakes, while others with less order got theirs before mine. Not a big deal since that must have been an isolated thing. Very nice location, lovely walk going to the store. Willing to go back to taste other flavors.

We went to explore Georgetown and saw the line out the door for Baked and Wired. We've heard about this place because and the hype, so we get in line. I am not sure why the 2 sides throw people off (baked goods and coffee separated) but when we entered it was pretty clear what to do. You walk along the line of baked goods, surrounded by their other products in the entrance, and get to view your options. I got the Gluten Free Chipper and it was AH-MAZING! Soft, delectable, sweet but not overly, and I didn't get sick! But that's for me, try at your own risk with cross-contamination. The other person in my party got the Dirty Chia Cupcake and it smelt SO GOOD! They enjoyed it as well and tried to save it for 2 sittings but finished it in one day haha We will have to come back to try their other items for sure! I did want a coffee but it was too late in the day and I want to try some other gluten-free items as well. While we did take it to go, the inside seemed nice and welcoming! Give this place a try while you're in town!
