This place is over priced. The average meal per person might cost upto $20 with a drink. I don't think it's worth trying. I ordered the lamb chops and rice. The meat was not cooked properly and was raw. Certainly won't recommend this place!

One of my top choices with consistent quality food and welcoming atmosphere. The owner always offers something little bit extra free of charge like a small appetizer or a coffee. It just feels like a nice place with white table cloth and delicious food. Must try kabobs and sweet pumpkin, my favorites. My daughter loves lamb with sweet rice, carrots... More

I was in DC for a conference, and as part of the conference, we organized "Dine Around DC" small group dinners to help people get to know one another and not "get lost" among the thousands of other attendees. I was the contact for the group that dined at Afghan Grill, and the staff took care of me and setting... More

I visited this restaurant after a gap of 30 years. Although differently named, the ownership was the same. Food was excellent. We could have made an entire meal sampling the appetizers (small plates). Service was thoughtful and not intrusive. I recommend this as a good place for a meal.

When I travel I like to try new foods. On a trip that took me to Washington DC to fly overseas, I had the opportunity to try a completely new style of cooking. I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I cannot eat very spicy foods so I ask what from the menu was not... More

Wonderful restaurant. Food was delicious -- definitely different from the usual restaurant fare. Service was friendly and prompt. We ate family style so could try all the different items. Would definitely return.

Everything here (food, atmosphere) was very good. The food was excellent -- great balance of flavors. The pumpkin appetizer was simply amazing; not too sweet with a hint of spice. Very nice chicken kebabs with a nicely cooked spinach side. Lastly, the meatballs with brown rice were well seasoned and cooked perfectly (meatballs can get dry). Skip the Lebanese taverna... More

We had a couple of appetizers (crispy shrimp and samosa goshti) and three main courses to share (Qabili Palas, the sautéed pumpkin and a combination kabob). It was a very tasty meal. The restaurant is relatively small and can be loud. A couple of large groups entered after we did and before they had food the noise level was high.... More

An awesome experience! Excellent environment, fabulous appetizers and entrees. Try the crispy shrimp and one of the kebabs with grilled vegetables and rice. The portions are large and Habib the manager is there to please. The prices are moderate and we will definitely return.

Some friends and I had dinner at the Afghan Grill. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was very good. I had a lamb dish with rice carrots and raisins. I also ordered an appetizer of meat dumplings, they were very good. The restaurant was not very busy at all. We were waited on by a gentleman who... More
