Old fashioned decor and corny menu with a crabby waitress, but the liverwurst is fresh and the shop has great German products. Recommend if you want a quiet place to talk.

I've been coming to Cafe Mozart 4 or 5 times a year for a long time. The food is fine and the service meets European standards (higher than the US!). The consistency is noteworthy too. The sausages (and mustard!) are great and different than what you will find elsewhere in downtown DC. There's a small grocery of hard to find... More

We were vacationing in D.C. and sought a special place for Valentine's Day. This was fun. In addition to specials for the Day, they offered live music. We were here several years ago, and they continue their great German food and service. Bratwurst and excellent Weisswurst are imperative, along with german potato salad and sauerkraut. The special was Venison Steak,... More

Loved finding this place! Central European cafes such as you find in Munich or Vienna are wonderful. It was wonderful to find this gem hidden away in the back of a German grocery store/deli in the middle of DC. All German language speaking countries are represented in food and drink. It it is a regular place now when visiting DC.... More

Not impressed with the restaurant, but really enjoyed the little store/deli. There was a great selection of German products that are very hard to find in the US. Will definitely visit the store again, but will probably skip the restaurant next time.

My daughter and I were hungry for meat. She ordered the Sausage Sampler and I got pork schnitzel. We ordered different sides (each entre gets two) and shared everything. It was tasty, quick service for a late lunch, convenient location from Metro - in short, I was glad we went and had a coupon to use - as we spent... More

The menu isn't vast but the food was delicious, served by attentive staff. Wine list is comprehensive and great imported beers

Decent German food with great liters of beer and excellent pianist on weekends. To enter you pass through a German deli and then a simple bar. Low key vibe. Restaurant in back room. Not many places with German cuisine in DC, so I'll be back next year for annual visit.

My friend recommended this place, but she hadn't been there in years and it must have changed owners or management or chef. The potato soup was watery and spicy, the carrot salad dripping with mayonnaise and too sweet. Altogether a disappointing experience.

Every time I go to this place I have a Schnitzel. This time I chose the Rahm sauce, which is mushroom sauce. My schnitzel was very good. It came with double German potato salad, which I love. And I was not disappointed. Among the best I have ever eaten. Service was good, I arrived after 2 pm and ate in... More
