We were a party of 8 so it was tricky to find a place that would accommodate us with a reservation on a Saturday night and not charge us very high prices in Foggy Bottom. Grillfish seemed to fit the bill. Our evening started with cordial and responsive service and a reasonable menu. Our food was good. The downside was... More

We had a lovely birthday celebration for a coworker complete with great food, and great service. Buba made sure that we had everything we needed including making sure the vegan in our group had a good and interesting meal. The noise level was very low so we could hear each other and had fun conversations. It was the first time... More

We took a uber to this place because of its ranking on TripAdvisor but were disappointed by the attitude of the waiter with a long face. I would not recommend wrapping up a holiday in DC with this.

We walked to this restaurant from our hotel and really enjoyed the experience. Corn meal fried oysters to start were incredible followed by mussels over linguine in a spicy marinara sauce. She had a mixed grill of mahi-mahi, sword fish, salmon, scallops and shrimp prepared with a rub & wood-fire grilled. All were fantastic along with white wine and an... More

A for atmosphere, not to noisy. Food was average. Ginger calamari was easy but greasy. Had lobster fra diavlo - they grilled the lobster and mine came out blackened at the edges which ruined the linguine as the dish was tainted with a burnt taste - I noticed other diner whom had ordered the same without the charred result. Haddock... More

I went here for a large business (more social) dinner. The atmosphere was great... and the food was even better! The Desserts (sundae, cheesecake) was as good as I've ever had! Bubba (our server) gets a shout out too ;) ask for Bubba!

Fantastic dinner- oysters, best scallops ever served with cooked spinach and a crab carbonara dish. Good wine list, great service. Mango key lime pie for dessert, a little tart, a little sweet, great finish to great meal.

Our waiter, Bubba, was awesome!! He was attentive, accommodating, and when we brought an issue to his attention, he took care of it right away!! When you've given up red meat for Lent and your family is enjoying Strip Loin and NY Strip steaks...😔Thankfully the chicken piccata over linguine and kale caesar salad were scrumptious!!! 😀

Great seafood menu and excellent service make this restaurant worth the trip. In addition to the expected oysters on the half shell and crab cakes as one would expect, Grillfish features multiple grilled fish options (the rainbow trout with coconut curry sauce was outstanding), chowders and various pasta sauces. Our server, Bubba, was a wonderful source of information about the... More

The bread and rosemary butter were the best part of the meal. The bread was perfect. The beet salad could have used more oranges, arugula and dressing to offset the beets. The seafood chowder was just weird. My daughter really wanted to like it but it was too weird. Hard to describe. Waiter was professional and friendly.
