I've eaten here a couple of times and always had great food, Service has always been no more than average. On the most recent occasion, it took fifteen minutes for us to get our drinks, the tapas arrived at ten minute intervals and the last one took another fifteen minutes to arrive. My impression was that both kitchen and front... More

Went for lunch with the wife and kids (9-13) There was something for everyone, although I think the kids would have been as happy with a good burger joint

Very varied tapas menu. Tasty and well presented food. Extensive wine list. Server was very affable but tended to get lost for extended periods.

I usually shy away from tapas restaurants (small portions for the same price as an entree somewhere else) - but Jaleo totally won me over. Not only were the tapas delicious, the portions were reasonable, the service was great, and oh - yeah - the sangria was superb.

There were so many choices on the menu. We went with the Jaleo Classics. It is the Chefs tasting menu. Some of the items include chilled watermelon with tomatoes and goat cheese, fabulous ham, peppers filled with cheese (a favorite), sauteed spinach, croquetas, grilled marinated chicken served with parsley purée and garlic sauce, shrimp, and for desert custard with 'espuma'... I enjoy going to this restaurant just before a game or concert at the Verizon Center. Whether you sit at the bar our at a table with friends there is a wide variety of small plated food on the menus. My recommendations are to go with a group and order at least 2-3 dishes per person and share everything.Try the... More

The food is very good. Here is my biased opinion. Tapas restaurants should be small, homey, and intimate. Jaleo is "nightclub meets restaurant". Again, the food is great, I just prefer the smaller venues.

We stopped in for lunch and were delighted to find a very interesting menu and and a waitress very willing to explain and make suggestions. We ordered four plates to split between the two of us. When I ordered the cod our waitress pointed out that the vegetables with it would be the same as those coming with the Quail... More

We've eaten at the Bethesda and DC locations of Jaleo, and have found the food at the DC version to be better.

Food may taste great but the allergy diet notations are useless because of cross contamination. I got totally sick. If gluten free is a health fashion, go for it! But if you have celiac avoid this place at all costs.

Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef Jose Andres. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.
