Outstanding small plates and paella! The drinks are good too and you have got to try their happy hour! Enjoy!

good food but overpriced. we got a few tapas and realized prices were per person, not per dish. I don't think we'll be back there. There are better restaurants if you're going to spend $100 per person.

We are first timers with the Tapas experience. Fortunately, our waitress, Olga, was up to the task of explains the small plate concert to us. kWe shared three dishes. One of the bread plates, the garlic shrimp and the Irish omelette. The first two were excellent while we felt that the third was a little flat from a taste standpoint.... More

Zagat writes that this is the most popular restaurant in DC, but Trip Advisor does not rate it so high. We agree with Zagat. Had a late lunch on a Sunday after museum tour. Jaleo is an easy walk up 7th from the Mall. Welcoming friendly staff. Huge menu of tapas, some smaller and some larger. Everything we had was... More

Enjoy this place often. The cocktails are excellent; the service is beyond par. Treat yourself and your significant other. Well worth it.

Late on a hot Saturday afternoon we found Jaleo. There are a lot of restaurants in this area, but this one caught our eye because we love tapas. Our server (I believe his name was Julian) was wonderful. We travel with our adult son who is disabled, and he was wearing headphones to filter out noise and stay focused. Julian... More

Haven't been back to this restaurant for two years. We have been eating here for 15 years. The best Tapas in Washington DC. This time we ordered the octopus, flank steak, muscles, heirloom tomatoes with Spanish anchovies and quail. Everything was excellent. I also brought my own wine. The corkage was $25 per bottle. Will definitely come back again.

Jaleo is still one of the best places to eat in central DC. Great food. Great ambience, and super friendly staff. We shared a number of the small plates. The real standout was the house-cured chorizo with olive oil potato puree. Sublime. We ordered a second dish of this. Everything is perfectly cooked. Service can be a bit slow and... More

From the minute I walked in the door the service was top notch. We were seated in a intimate booth and could smell all of the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen. I suggest this restaurant as a must while in DC.

Spanish Chef Jose Andres brought the tapas concept from Spain to Washington (or at least he was one of the very first to open up a tapas restaurant). It is still the best and was completely renovated 2-3 years ago. Its like being in Spain excpet people don't throw their napkins on the floor and they mostly sit at tables... More
