Loved the food. small restaurant, affordable prices, hardworking employees. Just a couple of minutes walk past the National Zoo. Authentic flavors. We had people with food allergies who were all able to make multiple selections. Really great!

When with a party of 8...everyone enjoyed what they got. Excellent Tzatziki, very good renditions of Spanakopita, Gyro/Sharwarma and Falafel. Pita a little dry, hummus was passable, could use some tahahini on the side. Lack of ambiance more than made up for value of/quality of food.

Walking from Zoo on our recent visit, we wanted something tasty, quick and inexpensive. We love gyros and were not disappointed with this place. The diner is simple but you could tell they've been around awhile and take pride in their little deli. Gyros had large chunks of gyro meat and pita was thin and authentic. Two gyros for around... Marvellous sandwiches, very generously put together. Don't be put off by the interior, which needs work. Clearly popular with locals and deservedly so. Inexpensive. Worth a return visit.

We stopped for lunch on our way to the zoo. We always look for local restaurants while traveling and were specifically looking for a sandwich/light meal. We got a ham sub that was delicious, better than the chain sub sandwiches. It was a great restaurant! We highly recommend Byblos Deli to anyone going near the Cleveland Park/Woodley Park/zoo area.

Chef Marco is a superb cook. I have lunch at his Cleve Park deli at least 2 times per week. The food is freshly cooked and wonderful. The gyros, the falafel, greek salads, hamburger ($3.75!!) are all great. Ask about his off menu specials: the soups are top notch. SK from DC.

We stopped in after a day at the zoo on our way to the Metro and had lunch, my boyfriend and I got cheeseburgers, and our friends had Gyros. We were all STUFFED and thought everything was delicious! Would definitely stop in again and try something else.

Of all the Mediterranean spots in and around cleveland park, Byblos is the best. It looks like a simple dive spot, but their food is made fresh for every order. Our favorite is the Gyros Byblos Special. Filling and priced appropriately.

Don't be shy if you think it looks awfully ordinary: this place is terrific. Mark likes to "make people happy" and he does it with good food made with good ingredients. One taste and you know that someone (Mark) cares. On a hot day -- which it was -- his tabouli is sublime. If your mama were Greek, she would... More
