What a great place for lunch al fresco on a beautiful day!! La Tomate has to have the best patio in the Dupont Circle area. If you don't want to enjoy the bustle of Connecticut Avenue, there is plenty of patio on the 20th St side where it is more quiet. Either way, you can't go wrong. The service was... More

A varied menu. My friends lamb chops were to die for. My home made pasta was very different. Full of taste without excess tomato or cream to mask the delicious cate flavours.

This place was a little disappointing. OK food but not exceptional. Good service. Relaxed atmosphere. Rather expensive we thought , €130 for two , two courses and a couple of drinks.

Introduced to Le Tomate by a friend - who I swear must live there - Le Tomate is my new favorite spot in DC! Relaxed, intimate, and with a delicious menu, it's the kind of place you can take Mom or meet friends for happy hour. With a fantastic flatiron shaped building, there are plenty of windows and patio to... More

My son and I had a great meal here. Fantastic place to relax and unwind after a long day of touristing. The service was excellent, with an Italian accent. The specials were spot on, I had pork scallopini with a mushroom cream sauce, which was served deliciously over a bed of garlic spinach and roasted potatoes. My son enjoyed the... More

Good italian cuisine, good prices. Location is convenient, I recommend it. Next time in Washington, I'll come back to La Tomate.

The food descriptions are a little misleading. Several in our group did not get what they expected, relative to the menu. The staff seemed unable to explain items or unwilling. The wine selection was interesting and enjoyable.

On a busy Saturday spring evening we were seated right away to comfortable surroundings. The menu was very good with traditional and eclectic Italian dishes. A formidable wine and beverage list was presented by friendly and efficient servers. The meals were delicious and the price affordable especially for this area. Good place for dates, informal meetings or just enjoying friends.
