We were at a conference and this restaurant was very close by and fitted us in for an early dinner. Afterwards I realized that we were very lucky to get a seat. This part of the street is undergoing a pretty serious renovation and it is easy to miss the restaurant. Once inside the rather old (historic) facade the restaurant... More

We during the week and the place was nearly empty. Had read good things about the place and therefore had to try it especially in the new surroundings. The restaurant is nice but a little dark. Service is more than fine but the found was a little hit and miss. The bread was good, Tuna was superb however the softshell... More

We actually went here for a business meeting dinner. We did have a limited menu, but the food actually wasn't that great for what we had to pay for it. The service was great but the food didn't hold up to the service. It was hard to find, in fact if you didn't know where to go you would miss... More

The restaurant is in a townhouse. Very hard to find since the sign is quite small, very dark street. It is two floors. We sat upstairs. It was a bit darker than we would have liked. The menu is quite simple. I had the corn soup which was delicious and well season. My husband had the Salmon terrine. The bread... More

20 minutes to get a cocktail after being seated. This was the start to the evening. Waitress said the bar was slammed. This is not a large restaurant. No excuse. Menu is creative and while I can't complain about the dishes I ordered, I can't say anything was truly wonderful. The wagyu beef was a bit tough. The heirloom tomato... More

The restaurant is located inside a town house. We had a private dining area and the food was exquisite. I had the Crab Blintz with Chayote Slaw - just yummy. The main course was the Beef Strip Loin and it was cooked to perfections. Also, the freshly baked bread should not be forgotten. Great evening. Nice atmosphere with wonderful service.

We recently dined for the second time at Corduroy, and again, it was first-rate. As before, we opted for the fixed price dinner for $30 per person upstairs at the bar. The fixed price menu includes starter, main dish, and dessert. This is an outstanding deal for DC fine dining, but it's only at the bar, and the bar isn't... More

Do not be put off by the rather bland atmosphere. The food and service is as good as I have found in DC and I have sampled 23 restaurants over the past 6 years. Three of us each had different meals and were blown away by the quality and taste. Wine list is superb and had my favorite vineyard --... More

This is a lovely small restaurant, with attentive and refined service. The food is very good too. I had a nice salad of asparagus, frisée and a poached duck egg with a light vinaigrette. My entree was salmon and warm potato salad. Everything was presented beautifully and had good flavor. Highly recommend!

Only a few times in my 50+ years has food brought tears to my eyes. The triple sorbet dessert with GRAPPA (my fave) was perfection. In-house made sorbet - strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry. Maybe it is because fruit is ripe now, but it was perfectly textured and so delicious. You want to savour the flavor in your mouth for as... More
