We had no reservations and dropped in during peak dinner hour on Saturday evening and were invited to stay and eat at bar which we did. Hostess was so incredibly accommodating that we were thrilled to have happened upon this place. Nice easy walking distance from Fairfax Embassy Row. Oh yes, and the food was also spectacular! Clams, tuna tartar... More

Although seating was tight, the food and wine was excellent. Had a half order of the black truffles over pasta, which was the highlight. The branzino main course was quite good, but I was thinking about the pasta the rest of the night. Tried my colleague's ravioli, which was also excellent...which indicates to me that Al Tiramisu excells at all... More

A friendly greeting was just the beginning. Casual and welcoming dining area in a warm setting. Pasta "to the tooth" excellence, pure and clear tastes in the dishes we had. Prompt and professional service and assistance with the menu and wine list was right on. Could be a destination dinner or a pleasant evening with friends. Prices reflect professional service... My family ate a belated Christmas dinner at Al Tiramisu. The ambience of this intimate below-street-level restaurant is warm and inviting. The entrees were flavorful, particularly the mushroom-infused gnocchi. We did not care for the special sardine appetizer, which at $16 for three sardines was grossly overpriced. We actually felt somewhat pressured by our server. When we asked the prices... More

This is a very good Italian restaurant. It is very authentic with food that is "real" Italian. The service was superb and the specials were amazing and there were at least eight specials offered. This was the most authentic Italian restaurant that we've visited in the USA since living in Europe for five years. That being said, the tiramisu was... More

What a disappointment. I ordered the $31 rib eye. The steak had somewhat of a grayish color. I was expecting a phenomenal steak. However, it was only edible. No flavor whatsoever. I thought that the steak was boiled. I was told that it was broiled for a bit then put into the oven with arugula on top. I was expecting... More

That short block on P Street west of the Circle has always been home to terrific local restaurants, and Al Tiramisu is one of them. It's a place long-time DC denizens know for freshly prepared pasta, Mediterranean veal or fish and of, desserts, including a nominally guilt-free yoghurt panna cotta, which was awesome. This is the type of place locals... More

This was a great dinner! The menu offered exactly what we wanted which was great salads and a variety of pasta options. There was also lots of fish and meat options. The bread was excellent. The wait staff was very easy, friendly and enthusiastic! Nice wine list. The total package!

It has been several years since visiting this area. The occasion of our visit and the opportunity to see old friends brought us back to try the restaurant again. We were not disappointed. The fresh fish specials were top notch. One friend had the veal special and gave it an "A". Service was attentive. Not rushed. Friendly as well. Close... More

Comfortable restaurant, service good but a waiter who was a bit full of himself. We had fennel and orange salad, linguine and clams, fettucini ragu and duck breast. The food was good but not knock your socks off. Tiramisu, tartufo and gelato for dessert and coffee, also good. One bottle of chianti, tax, tip, valet and we were pushing $400.... More
