Pan-Latino is here to stay, and I am thrilled that Café Citron is the trailblazer in an over-saturated market of Latino restaurants, especially in the Washington DC area, offering a wide variety of tasty offerings from the myriad of Latin-American cuisines that reflect their unique history and their regional and topographical differences. Looking through the menu, I am tempted to... More

We went on the weekend for free salsa lessons and had a blast! The people were nice and the food and drinks were great. Definitely coming back for a second visit.

I was in DC for work and looking for a place to gather five friends. I sort of picked Citron out of a hat and was glad I did! The happy hour was long for a Friday night with good cheap drinks and fun food. Dinner was excellent and served promptly with a lovely Central American authenticity I didn't expect!... More

Stopped in with a Bachelorette party, and the food and drinks were good. The service was good and attentive. We stopped in on the salsa classes they host on Friday nights and it was in the basement. It was full of people, and no really space to learn or take a proper lesson. We only stayed for about 20mins because... More

El Citron has everything that the Connecticut Avenue/Dupont Circle mentality demands: Mexican, Peruvian, Guatemalan, and other South and Central American food with moderate prices. It also has a happy hour from 5-7 for workers from the surrounding office buildings, followed by a happier hour after 8, and salsa dancing later on with an instructor for beginners. Sophia, the charming hostess,... More

I always come here to dance Salsa and have a good time with my friends. The environment is good and I never have problems in this place.

We stopped by at around 11pm on a Saturday night. Music & dancing seemed to be confined to the very tiny basement (and I mean basement - dark, dank, unfinished concrete floors). Music was strictly house, no tropical rhythms. Not our thing. However, good service at the bar & the mojitos looked great.

This place use to be my spot but I recently have had bad experiences there (bad experience there on New Years..just a mess). I had stopped going for a while but recently decided to give it another shot. I went and was again disappointed. I have never experienced a bartender DEMAND that you give him a tip. I have always...
