We stopped here for lunch after visiting the American Art Museum/National Portrait Gallery. The service and food was excellent. With no lunch portions, it's seemingly intended to be family style. Prices were reasonable.

Ate here as part of a middle school tour of Washington DC. It was by far our worst meal of the trip. Lower than average Chinese food. Very bland and unappealing. The restaurant was very tired looking and in need of a serious renovation. Won't...return.More
My friend and I were looking for a place to eat. Originally, my friend wanted sushi but we were having a hard time finding a place. We found a restaurant and were heading there when Tony Cheng’s restaurant caught my eye. As a joke I...told my friend how about we try this place. Which by the way Google maps didn’t show us this restaurant as an option. Anyway, I am glad we chose this place. They offer “family style” dinners and the food is great! This hole-in-the-wall was the best decision we made that night. I would give it a try. You’ll be very surprised how good they are.More
Had a great dinner at Tony Chengs. Was there with ~15 people. Drinks were delicious and food was yummy. Entrees are substantial so don’t over order like we did. Restaurant handled our large group well.
We wandered in off the street past some shady people seeking shelter from the cold wind. Once we climbed the stairs we found one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. The roasted pork fried rice was perfection and easily was shared...between us. The Cantonese duck was out of this world. Nothing we ordered was not perfect and seriously the entrance may have been shady but it was almost a nice portal to travel through to get this great food as a reward.More
Went for lunch expecting Dim Sum unfortunately they no longer serve Dim Sum and the waiter informed us that no one serves Dim Sum in Chinatown, we ordered the fried Calamari very greasy but OK. Shrimp toast was also greasy and not anything like I...have had before would not recommend. Steam Beef dumplings were very good. Fried wonton that wasn't greasy but with a sweet I think cream cheese in it, not what we expected and would not recommend. When we received our bill there was a 20% service charge which surprised us as we were only two people not a crowd. When he ran our credit card it came back with space for gratuity, don't understand that. When we were leaving a delivery man asked how it was and we said OK, he commented that he would not recommend Chinatown as a destination. He also informed us that there is a great Dim Sum restaurant on 7th and H or New York St. very good, very clean.More
The food was prepared excellently, and was served promptly. The wait staff was friendly and helpful and the meals were very tasty. We both had seafood dishes and shared them. The portions were very generous, and, although we were both very hungry after a long...day of travel without any meals, we were unable to completely finish them.More
It was GAMEDAY and I needed to feed the boys before the Commanders game. I wanted to show the boys Chinatown and I have always enjoyed the fresh made food in that part of DC. IT WAS COLD, so we walked to a couple of...places by where we parked. If you are going to that part of DC, be aware of the homeless who hit you up for cash which made it a bit uncomfortable for me and my 2 sons. We entered the establishment and went upstairs to the restaurant. It was empty so we received quick customer service from our waiter. The menu has tons of choices which complicates it for my 2 son's who eat the same chinese dish over and over. We ordered Hunan Chicken, combination fried rice, and YES Orange Chicken. The food arrived quick and as expected fresh and extremely flavourful. The portions were above average and service well ok for it being empty. Each plate approximately $20 my issue was that they charge me $14 tip without my approval....WHAT?! Well this Hispanic doesn't make DC money and didn't appreciate them charging that tip. The food good, warm but that charge came out of left field. I probably will not return on my next visit to DC or if i do, ill get a loan from CHASE.More
We were downtown and decided to try this place out. It was good and the serving sizes are plenty to share. We got 3 entrees and it was more than enough. The fried dumplings were awesome as were the crab Rangoon.
I do not recommend this place. Food is expensive, place will not match the price you pay for. We observed that the servings from other table is much more and larger than what we received. Dirty chairs and restroom.. dry ribs, dumplings have thick wrappers,...greasy calamari and bad service and disrespectful from the waiter. hot tea is not complimentary.. Not a place that I can recommend even with my enemy..More
Worst service ever . Food serving is very small for the price . Servings for the locals totally different for tourist . Will not recommend this place to anyone planning to visit china town in DC. The place was also very filthy .
Smell, service, food that was cooked yesterday or even before. Dirty plates and hovering waiters. No music, no ambiance, just dingy and depressing. Do not recommend.
We happened upon this place in chinatown. We are extremely pleased with our attentive service and the quality of our meal. They have traditional Chinese fare in fine dining experience. Our meals were above average and the service was amazing. I would certainly recommend if...you are in the area.More
Superb food. Chinese food with Chinese flavors. Great service. Walk up to second floor. Try the wonton soup and the combination fried rice. Recommended.
We wanted to grab a bite on our jaunt into town and this looked like a bet to be sure. After making our way up the stairs we were met by the host to took us to a nice table. We were served immediately. The...wait staff was helpful and friendly. I ordered the birds nest - and it was amazing. Chock full of seafood, the bowl was made of dried noodles resembling a birds nest. After soaking up the juices of the meat, seafood and sauces, I ate the bowl as well. This was a great meal and the atmosphere was quite nice as well. I definitely recommend!More
