Met Candido and Neto at Martin’s Tavern. They invited my wife and I to come check out the restaurant they work at. Next day did that. Had a great time with good food and drink. Say at the bar because this place fills up, even...on a week night. Bartender, John Carlo, was great. All three of them have a passion for what they do. Glad to have made some new friends.More

I dont remember a worse experience. Its true we didnt understand where we wrre, its a very high class restaurant and we just wanted coffee and salads. We were treated with complete distain. We got our 2 salads, 20 dollars each. 3 pieces of salad...leaf with a tiny chunk of cheese. We then asked for coffee. I asked for a biscuit (cookie) beside my coffee. I got 3 or 4 small biscuits- assumed complementary-and was charged $15. It cost 78$. I dont care about the cost. I was with my daughter and happy to be so. However the attitude was appalling and unnecessary. I wouldnt go here out of principle and would recommend the same to others.More

Cafe Milano is the place where a certain type of Washingtonian likes to go to see and be seen. It is accordingly overpriced, overrated and overhyped. The food is excellent but the service is poor if you're not some sort of local politico or celebrity....Then you can expect to be fawned over. Some people probably like that sort of thing.More

Quite nice italian restaurant. Nice food, nice environment. The staff could be a little bit more friendly. The entrance to the toilets needs some attention.

Excellent food, but it is high priced. As a starter the grilled Calamari and then the fish risotto. Both dishes have been worth every penny. Very well prepared. The waiter was very attentive and had good advices. The Pinot Grigio went very well with the...fish. The sweet among us should try the Tiramisu it is really a perfect desert for an Italian Lunch.More

I had a business meal at end of March which was a great atmosphere. Lionel Richie was in the back room having a get-together which was really interesting. The food and atmosphere were crowded and happening. I went there with my wife the second week...of April and it wasn't as nice - seemed less appealing and the food was not as good. However, it was still a very nice meal and atmosphere. There is parking across the street which closes at 9. A better option is a parking garage to the left of the restaurant which is open 24/7. Too bad there wasn't valet parking at the restaurant.More

Made reservations for a pre-theater dinner on an early Friday evening. While the restaurants had many open tables, we were seated in likely the worse seat near the bar with very heavy traffic. Music is loud and makes conversation for a senior couple a bit...difficult. Many couples came after us and were seated in better locations. Orders were taken and bread served but table had no napkins which we had to request. Started with Fiori de Zucca (soggy), main a Cafe Milano pizza and Ippoglosso (halibut) with a arugula salad. Halibut was perfect but arugula salad was just that arugula. Service was professional. There are a lot of restaurant staff in suits wandering around. This was an average meal and very disappointing. There are many other Italian restaurants that have atmosphere and finer foods in Georgetown. Parking next door $12.00 for two hours.More

My husband and I had a fabulous dinner upstairs tonight. It is like a different restaurant up there. Downstairs was fun and lively, upstairs was quiet with beautiful lighting and attentive service. Everything we ate was delicious and we are looking forward to going back...soon!More

A great evening with great company but a very average meal. We had enjoyed our last visit in 2020 but this visit just didn’t meet our expectations. The staff was just getting through another night. Our food was ok but not exceptional and the wine...list was overpriced.More

Unfortunately I was invited by friends to join at Cafe Milano. This place is a snow bird trap, nothing more. Food was sub par and my table was a porous wood and didn't feel clean. Little nat like bugs on the table made me feel...like I was eating at a camping site . The place was so bad I could never give it a second chance. YOUVE BEEN WARNEDMore

What an amazing Thanksgiving treat it was for me too spend it with my 2 college kids in almost 10 years together and get a reservation at Cafe Milano. Dinner was fabulous, there’s nothing you will order that won’t disappoint. We enjoyed trying each other...meals and each was a delight and ended up overloading our tummies with desert that was icing on the cake on top of our delish meals. My second visit to this fab place and always treated with VIP service.More

Excellent pasta, amazing veal parmesian, and the most attentive family friendly staff. They say it's a powerhouse dining place for politicos and other vip types, but our family thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

The food lived up to expectation but the Service certainly didn’t. We dressed appropriately but were made to feel as if we weren’t important enough! A fly in a cocktail, given bread that wasn’t gluten free to a coeliac and recommended you didn’t need Parmesan...on pasta even though you’d asked for it! We were also presented with the bill without asking for it and made to feel they wanted us out of there! Overpriced and a sense of arrogance about the place. Will not return.More

I must say that I was excited to have dinner at Cafe Milano for my B-Day. We ordered the charcuterie board and tuna appetizers to start. The tuna was very good. The charcuterie board was so so. Dinner consisted of rack of lamb which was...very good, but the branzino was a bit soggy. The desserts left much to be desired. The apricot/pistachio cake and profiteroles were not great. We consumed various pre dinner, wine, and digestifs which were good. The restaurant itself is nice and tucked away in a quiet Georgetown neighborhood. The service was just okay probably because they were short staffed. Would I eat there again? Not for dinner. I might try brunch. Cafe Milano is a nice place for drinks at the bar. It does not compare to high end establishments in Miami, Los Angeles, or NYC. On a final note, if you want to drop $400.00 on dinner for two for an okay meal in G-Town, then this is the place. Try Del Mar at the Wharf - there is no comparison.More

Cafe Milano is a long time Georgetown staple.excellent Italian favorites (pasta’s super, but that’s not what I’m talking about), veal an fish are first class. The service is impeccable. They’re not giving anything away but if you enjoy high end dining, this is the place!

I would say smart casual. There are always men and women in suits...I would not wear jeans to go to Caffe' Milano but you will not be turned away for wearing them.
