The interior is small. The menu for lunch or dinner is extensive. Soups are very good. Vegetable in the various dishes are fresh and good. Lunch specials are all about $8 with a little extra for spring roll or soup. With 36 lunch specials there are many options. We use it every few weeks and mostly for carry out when we don't have things on hand or have been traveling and just getting back into town. It delivers good Chinese food. No AMEX and no personal checks accepted.

Spring Garden is a great Carry-out and delivery service. There are a few tables if you want to eat there. The have many lunch specials as well as a long list of entrees. We love the dumplings. Other favorites include Shrimp in the Shell, General Tso Chicken. Good spicy tangy wontons.

Hot and what?

They are only open for carry out and it seems like you have to call to place your order. My father wanted some Chinese food for lunch so I decided to place his order and get something for myself. So, it's run of the mill stuff......moo goo gai pan, hot and sour soup and shrimp toast. He thought his moo goo gai pan was good (*he's 96 and he's been eating kitchen food from his senior citizen apartment) but one taste of my hot and sour soup caused me to ask if they know how to cook. There was no hot nor sour nor was there any flavor. The shrimp toast was toasted brown and had very little flavor. I was truly disappointed.

Ordered food for delivery. The taste was really bad. Hot and sour soup was hot and had a metallic, but .no other,flavor. Kung Pao chicken was gelatinous and had a metallic flavor overtone. Shrimp rolls very small.

I got delivery from Uber Eats. Pretty sure it was them, I've always enjoyed Spring Garden. This time total blech. Completely awful. Never again!

Fast, cheap and delicious

Don't be scared by the small interior and takeaway look of this place. It's mostly for takeaways or quick lunches. The food is actually pretty decent. I order lunch from here about twice per month and it's super fast and around $8 for a great portion. If you are looking for cheap good eats, this is the place. Don't mind the grumpy lady behind the counter, the chef knows what he/she is doing.

A quick takeout place run by a very nice family. Food will not startle or overly impress: it is always solid, predictable, American Chinese food. But reliably tasty when you need your kung pao tofu.

Chinese restaurant with take out; got oder wrong o firsttr; secon order was much better; little pricey per each item; chicken cashew was good; fried rice was good; sesame chicken was good; beef with vegetables was good; speed of service was fast first order was for delivery which was very slow; not good

Great Local Chinese Takeout

Spring Garden is only a few bocks from where we live in the Friendship Heights hood of DC. It's our favorite local place for take out. The food is good with generous portions. I recommend the steamed dumplings.
