Georgia Brown's is located just one block away from the White House. The ambience of the place is modern, but warm. The place is quite big and rather busy most of the time, so that the atmosphere is smart, but casual and lively. Service is efficient and friendly. The southern cuisine served at the place is hearty, portions are large... More

We had heard about Georgia Brown's for a long time and decided to try it. The chicken gumbo soup was excellent as well as the pre-meal bread they serve with peach inspired butter! I ordered a disappointing main meal salad, but should have ordered what they are known for: fried chicken. My wife ordered the vegetarian three choice vegetable dinner... More

Had a super lunch. Wonderful food and the peach tea was too die for. Our party of 10 was treated graciously and the service was top drawer. Great place highly recommend.

I wasn't feeling well after the meal. Saw a doctor pretty soon after and they found that I had a bacteria called Yersinia enterocolitica. So if you order any pork or sausage with them, tell them to cook it a bit more!

From the good reviews, I expected better than I actually received. I was not impressed with my dish. I had the gumbo. It was bland in flavor. My guy had buttermilk fried chicken...ok. We shared the fried chicken livers. I am sorry, they were not good. I make better. They were hard/overcooked and the cooking oil didn't seem fresh. The... More

The food was definitely delicious and on point. I had no complaints from any of my family members that were dining here over the weekend. It was a great night, with great food and company. Emily took very good care of my party and offered excellent service. Will recommend to others in DC. We also will be back.

I'm a northerner who just moved south. Georgia Brown's is a fun spot. Great service, great fried chicken. Couldn't fit in dessert, so I have to go back!

Shared dinner with co-workers and enjoyed it so much, we returned for dinner the second night. Nice to eat out and have servers who are personable and engaging. They knew their menu and and were able to give suggestions based on your preferences. We never felt rushed, the ambiance allowed for laid back conversation with good music in the backdrop.... More

This is a nice restaurant with great service. Some of the dishes we had just didn't hit the spot. Some of the descriptions of the meal need to be revised to be much more accurate i.e. bread pudding was more like a bran muffin. I would visit again but would try different dishes since this is a staple and recommended... More

My daughter took me to Georgia Brown for Brunch and it was fantastic! The food was amazing, and the atmosphere/live music great. Our waiter Merle was the best. You have to make reservations, and they also have valet parking for $12. The menu included unlimited Mimosa's, shrimp & grits, spiced shrimp, salmon, pasta, potato salad, fried potatoes, bacon, sausage, French... More
