There's a well-known BBQ place down the street where we went for a late lunch, and left after 10 minutes of being completely ignored by a staff more preoccupied with texting than serving their customers. We did a quick Yelp search and found Clyde's a block away. And thank heavens we did! We came in hot, tired, hungry and cranky.... More

Generally good food. Often crowded. Uneven service. Some tables are so close to each other that you may feel as though you're dining with strangers.

Was expecting an elegant casual dining experience from the profile picture but in reality it was more of a saloon type pub (at least where we were seated near the entrance). It was noisy as opposed to buzzy with TV screens and fast service. Very traditional american type menu - nothing stood out. Not really a destination restaurant but ok... More

Food and service was excellent. Booking definitely required and we did not get our preferred time having booked only the prior evening. Very busy and jammed seating, but still enjoyable. Kids will love the planes hanging from the ceiling.

Ate here twice in a week - both times food was excellent but service while pleasant initially turned awful - first meal party of four on a Saturday evening happy to be seated relatively quickly - pleasant server but with each interaction speed and accuracy went downhill. But the food was very good to excellent. We wrote it off to... More

I cam here on a business trip. I really enjoyed my time here. Probably one of the best places to have dinner I've been to so far in D.C. I stared off with an artichoke cheese dip which was good. For dinner I had and I loved the Royal Sea-bass which sat on top of black rice and a squash... More

Had beers at Clyde's a few years ago and decided to revisit it. Sat o the bar and had great friendly service and delicious appetizers. If you need a tall cool drink or a great dinner, can;t go wrong with Clyde's.

You can't go wrong with Clydes. Great food, drinks and great service. The Georgetown venue is smaller but still very cozy. One of my favorite restaurants.

Great food and service. Would recommend booking ahead as we were told there would be a 20 minute wait (ended up being 5 - winning)!

One thing about Georgetown: it is always crowded, restaurants and bars are always busy. We had an early dinner on a Sunday night and Clyde's was already hopping. It had a great "local" atmosphere, friendly and energetic. Nice menu selection with many entrees paired with wine suggestions. The kitchen seems to have their act together as it did not take... Description
Opened in 1963, Clyde's of Georgetown qualifies as an institution. This animated tavern in the heart of Washington's most famous neighborhood popularized saloon food and practically invented Sunday brunch. More than 50 years later, Clyde's continues the tradition, serving classic American cuisine to Georgetown locals and famous faces while passers-by stop in and mingle at the long oak bar. The re-designed interior is an open invitation to the restaurant's life and times with its many travel posters, paintings, and bronze statues. Clyde's of Georgetown remains a Washington classic.
