Warm welcome, Good menu . Food well prepared and presented. Table server excellent. Really nice vibe and would be happy to return. We booked on open table and were a little disappointed when we'd just paid the bill and were actually leaving to get a notification from open table saying that our table had been cancelled by the restaurant.Shame they... Great, friendly, upbeat service. Very cold beer. Nice selection of pastas. Both the squid ink pasta and the lasagne were delicious.

First of all book if you can - especially on a Saturday night. Clyde's is immensely popular and you won't be having a quiet night. That said, if you are visiting the USA Clyde's, or somewhere like it, is one of those 'must do's' because it is America (or at least a comfortably-off slice of America) on it's night out.... More

Was expecting great things from Clyde's, got mediocrity. Started with a non-descript Bloody Mary. Wife had a great Pinot Noir. Then excellent meatball appetizer. Four of these big fellas, could have been a small meal. Meatball and marinara were great. Served with dry bread, no butter, no garlic. Nice char on it but dry. Wife ordered meatloaf, which looked like... More

We had a Sunday brunch and the food was really good. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The eggs Benedict are really good and the bloody Mary's are good as well

I was in town on business and the hotel recommended this place. When I walked in and got seated I was ready to leave because the tables were jammed together so tightly and it was very noisy. But, I stayed and glad I did. The food was wonderful - best butternut squash soup I ever had! The Mussels were also... More

Clydes is a really good bar in the fabulous district of Georgetown - a bit like our Chelsea in London. It is also a good place for a pick up! And great meals at good prices.

We were looking for a quiet place to relax and have lunch in Georgetown on a crowded Saturday afternoon. Clyde's fit the bill. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but were able to wander around town and they notified us via text when our table was ready. Our server was friendly and attentive, warm bread/butter and homemade coffee... More

We had reservations and were immediately seated. We had a wonderful waiter, but I hate I cannot remember his name. The only negative is seating - I felt cramped and as though I was sitting on top of the person at the table next to me. I love cauliflower and chose the crab cakes simply to try the different variations... More

Clyde' s was just like I remembered it from the '70s. Decent food, great atmosphere and wine is half price on a Sunday night. Tried the Argyle sparking wine from Pregon and it was delicious.

Description
Opened in 1963, Clyde's of Georgetown qualifies as an institution. This animated tavern in the heart of Washington's most famous neighborhood popularized saloon food and practically invented Sunday brunch. More than 50 years later, Clyde's continues the tradition, serving classic American cuisine to Georgetown locals and famous faces while passers-by stop in and mingle at the long oak bar. The re-designed interior is an open invitation to the restaurant's life and times with its many travel posters, paintings, and bronze statues. Clyde's of Georgetown remains a Washington classic.
