Went as a guest to celebrate birthday, enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Portion size bigger compared to other places with 3 to 5 course meals. Its America and everythng is bigger than normal!! Recommnded a visit, very tasty food.

Our kids got married at Georgetown in the chapel and we were looking for a good place to have a rehearsal dinner. The kids knew and liked THE TOMBS, so the restaurant right there was a logical choice. But it was an unknown and we were planning the dinner from 400 miles away. It could not have gone better. The... It is being called price fixed but it is far more liberal than that. One can choose a certain number of courses for a fixed price and choose as many from any category as you want. Or, you can choose one from one, two or there (the price fixed begins with four courses) and pay the price of that category.... More

55 years in business in a quiet section of Georgetown, this is truly a special occasion type of place. Classical cooking, heavily influenced by the French. Try the foie gras, fish dishes are wonderful as is the beef. Save room for a dessert creation. .

This is one of Washington's iconic dining establishments, elegant and refined. The quality of the food has always been excellent, but after a summer shut down to repair the roof and enhance the kitchen, the owners have tweaked the formula a bit. Now there's a tasting menu of four, five or six courses, but our server didn't make clear whether... More

It's hard to comprehend as you walk in this is a restaurant. It feels like a gorgeously appointed period home. Oh wait! That's just what it is! The integrity of the architecture and furnishings are pristine but you're welcomed into a 21st century dining experience. Fresh, locally sourced foods crafted elegantly and delish. We enjoyed our cozy evening. The only... More

This beautiful old inn in Georgetown captures so well what fine dining might have been like in the time of Jefferson and Adams. The food is not very adventurous, but very well cooked and presented, and in keeping with such a traditional place. There is also an excellent wine list and normal restaurant prices. Overall a great night out for... More

This is a place to take the wife for dinner. Quiet, romantic. Good food. A bit out of the way in Georgetown. Take a taxi there. Minimum parking.

Thank William M
