Romantic dinner that was exceptional. We did the Chef tasting with the wine pairing. Each course was exceptional and the Somm did a fabulous job with the pairing. I highly recommend this restaurant! It's not inexpensive but it is worth it.

Overpriced "art" food. Nice setting, though a touch stuffy. Nice waiters. Very small menu. All a la carte. If you're a mini eater, with tons of money to burn, and like medium taste.... I'm a foodie & this wasn't even close to worth it.

1789 Restaurant is high-priced fine-dining; however, we got what we paid for here. We dined in a quiet corner of the green room. The room had a quiet relaxing atmosphere; the food was incredibly delicious; and we were given attentive service by our waiter who...More

I've read the other reviews, and have to say I thought overall this was one of the best meals I've ever enjoyed, and I've traveled to nearly 100 different nations. Maybe I just ordered right...I did the tasting menu and stuck to fish courses. All...More

The meal was average. Small portions of fish with average taste except the tenderloin which was very good. Sablefish was awful. Not great. We have better fish for 1/8 the price in Norfolk, no joke. I spent $450 and it was not worth it in...More

I had no jacket, but most men did. And, the restaurant was a bit cold. I must add that the food was really mediocre, so I would recommend against going, no matter how you're dressed.
