I was the lone vegan at the table. Equinox set the trend to be vegan friendly many years ago. Our table wound up ordering a series of small plates and most came from the vegan half of the menu. We were all amazed with the flavors and textures of each and every dish. Right side of the menu is all... More

My daughter sought out a D.C. restaurant as gift for special occasion, and a California girl asked her friend's N.Y. chef brother. I do not know what he was paid, but Equinox was one great disappointment. My wife and I went on a very slow Sunday evening for a belated celebration of our 45th anniversary. We were seated promptly, with... More

We met an omnivore couple for brunch at Equinox with some apprehension since we were imposing our choice of food. They, and we, were delighted. Any foodie would love the flavors, ingredients and spices here. We can't wait to return to this eater's paradise.

I was invited to join my friends for a birthday dinner this evening. They arranged for the three of us to go to Equinox (by Todd Gray) in Washington DC. My two friends are vegan. and the big attraction at Equinox is that half the menu is plant based and the chef and the staff understand how to make interesting... More

There is absolutely nothing to complain about at this marvelous restaurant. Lovely service, perfectly prepared dishes, wonderful selection of both meat and plant-based delights. My gazpacho was the best I have ever tasted. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

We really only came here from a friend's recommendation, and because we heard their mac 'n cheese was outstanding. I must say, from the moment we walked in, we were a little disappointed. Maybe we don't "look the part", but the service was standoffish and snobby. It didn't make for a good night. They put us at a table for... More

If you are looking for place for a power dinner or special occasion, consider Equinox. Things started off well when the head chef himself picked up the phone when we called for a reservation. That level of service continued when our group showed up for dinner. The chef greeted us with a signature dish-deep fried risotto balls (delicious). Every other... More
