What really makes the Cactus Cantina experience is the very sweet outside seating. They are on the corner and they have 20+ tables along Wisconsin and Macomb Ave. The seating is separated from the pedestrians by planters, there is an awning with overhead fans (space heaters in the Fall) and the are properly staffed for outside dining. This is a... More

Dine inside or out. This place was packed when we visited, but the service was fast and the meals were large. If you like Margaritas, share a pitcher as you work your way through your meal.

I became aware of Cactus Cantina from an ad in one of the DC tourist maps. Although we are not tourists, my wife and I were looking to try additional Mexican restaurants in our area. I love the restaurant's decor, which includes old black & white photos of the Southwest. The overall vibe reminds me of Mexican restaurants I used... More

Stopped by for lunch after visiting the National Cathedral just two blocks away. Lots of outdoor seating. We elected to sit inside to cool off. Was a bit loud. Our server was astonishing. He kept coming back to the table with refills and made sure we had a second round of nice thin chips and their amazing salsa! They were... More

Good chips with salsa, friendly staff and fresh food. Very crowded at lunch in a residential area speaks highly of what regulars think and has an outdoor space.

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday after a busy day of moving. Food was filling - typical Tex Mex fare, decently prepared but not anything special. Sangria really hit the spot! Service was friendly. Place was fairly full and loud. This was a good and convenient choice for lunch.

It was a lovely afternoon and we came for a late lunch / early dinner. We sat outside. Our waiter Matt was the best. He gave us great advice, at our request, about the menu and was terrific! We enjoyed the salsa and chips on the table and swirl (lime / strawberry) margaritas. They were frivolous! It was a lovely... More

This restaurant offers indoor as well as outdoor seating. The restaurant is quite large and was very busy. We had fabulous service but thought the food was average. We ordered enchiladas, salads, and tacos. It might have been better to taste some fresh cilantro on some of the food. The portions were large and the chips and salsa were delicious.... More

Great chips and dip. Hot, salty and fresh. Enchiladas were very tasty and flavorful. I haven't eaten here for a while but everything was as I remember. This was a weekly dinner several years ago. The place has been updated inside and the food has stayed the same. Still great. Drinks looked good Nice size. Give it a try for... More
