My daughters and I were visiting Washington D.C. from Canada and we had a hankering for Mexican food. We wanted as authentic as possible - not interested in Taco Bell that day :) We searched and up came Cactus Cantina which was not too far away from our place. We ordered tacos and the flautas. Both were great. I've never... More

Good portions, fast friendly service. But the food had no taste. Very dissatisfied. For the prices you'd think they'd use a little seasoning!! The waiter was great though. Maybe it'll be better next time?

Went here for Cinco de Mayo so it was predictably crazy and difficult to get a reservation. But what a perfect place for the occasion! The service was outstanding even when the restaurant was packed and everyone loved their food (party of 8). I will definitely be going back. Just great in every way. Margaritas - excellent!

The tortillas were made right near my table. It was neat seeing them be made, and they were very fresh. My tortilla soup was basically a vegetable soup. The veggies were big chunks that were hard to eat. There was even some corn on the cob in my soup, that obviously I couldn't eat. The big veggies were just in... More

DC is an expensive place to eat and Cactus Cantina isn't cheap, but you get good value for the tab. We stopped in mid-afternoon so there were tables available. We ordered the chicken enchiladas and avocado-tomato salad. Both were nicely plated and good-sized. They also tasted good but not top-tier. Service was reasonable and the free chips and salsa were... We decided to celebrate three family birthdays. We were greeted by a curt hostess. I think we interrupted her from wiping menus. After being seated some chips were dropped on the table. After about 15min we asked if we had a server.our waiter appeared a bit later without greeting us and asked if we were ready to order. Huh? How... More

We used to come here all the time, especially when our child was younger (toddler, grade school), but we haven't been back in a year so decided to return. Then we remembered why we stopped coming: the bill is always too high for the quality and taste of what you get; the bloated feeling; the watered-down margarita for $10; the... More

A group of six of us dined here on a Saturday evening. We showed up without reservations, and were seated with almost no wait at all. The restaurant is large, with several sections. We were served chips and salsa. The chips were warm and tasty. The service all evening was excellent. I ordered the chicken fajitas, which were quite good.... More

Very nice staff, great food, and cocktails. Staff was friendly and patient as I waited at my table for lunch mates to appear. The house salad was huge and tasty with chicken, avacado, pepperonicini, and hearts of palm. The chips and salsa were too delicious!

We had a late lunch here. Ambiance was loud, but service was good and they validated parking in the structure in the same building. Hubby had chicken enchiladas, which were very bland. Salad on the plate was little more than a pile of cabbage. Beans were good but might have had pork in them. I had a "Brazilian" salad. Nothing... More
