Classic, wonderful Italian dishes that reminded me of the food I grew up with. The portions are huge including the desserts, so beware of becoming very full! Service was impeccable despite the restaurant being full. Excellent wine list to accompany the homemade pastas!! Loved it!!!

During a recent three night trip to DC, we dined at Filomena twice! It is truly as good as they say. The ambiance is very intimate and dark with the feeling of old world Italy. It's a cozy date spot for sure. We just happened to dine as a family, and it actually worked well too! It was dark and... More

Memories from past visits are always brought up at family gatherings and everyone has such fond recollections over many years. Somehow the staff, food and location create such a magical atmosphere. The food is quite good, especially raviolis, lobster pasta and osso buco, and the wine and the desserts are wonderful. Throw yourself into the joy of dining without the... More

FOOD: Fair at best. At a table of 8 the common theme was, "I make better sauce than this." We are engineers not chefs. And $26 for gnocchi is really steep Their online menu only lists the $12.95 lunch version of gnocchi with the dinner gnocchi selection cleverly omitted, but you can find photos of the dinner menu online. Linguine,... More

We had a party of six. While waiting for our reservation we were able to look at all the delicious desserts and people watch. It is very busy and the waiters all handle it with ease and good humor. It is crowed but it still lent an opportunity for our table to all have a lively conservation and lots of... More

Been to Filomena's a couple of times before. Delighted to see that nothing has changed, during my current visit. The same great atmosphere, large portions of legendary dishes, excellent wine selection, fantastic staff. Osso Buco or the signature lobster pasta dish, (a favorite of Pres. Reagan and Clinton), will not disappoint. Prepare for the large, FREE flasks of amaretto and... More

Since I'm on a budget, I prefer going at lunch. The dipping oil for the sourdough bread is amazing. My friend and I each had the soup special, which was the best chicken vegetable soup either of us have ever had, and we also shared the Arancini appetizer, which was sooooo good! A trip to their salad bar comes with... More

This was my first time visiting Filomena's and what a great experience it was! The food was amazing and the staff was truly incredible. They made our experience that much better. I went with a group of gals for a birthday so we shared tons of food. It was great to sample a little of a lot! Everyone that works... More

This wonderful Georgetown gem has it all. From the ladies in the window making the days pasta by hand to the after dinner Amaretto and Grappa drinks that come with the meal, this place has it all! And every bite of it is delicious. Come around a holiday where decorations are popular and you'll be met with the only decked... More

We went for dinner on Thanksgiving weekend after reading reviews online and craving Italian. It was everything you would expect - touristy, gimmicky and old school Italian. The service was quick and fast. Like they were trying to serve you quickly to get you out for the next table. The food was like having dinner at my own Nonna's house.... More
