This was my first visit, and I must say that the food was very authentic. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and tried 4 different dishes. They were very good as was the wine. This is a very class place and they make an effort to...look good - well done. The hostess and the server should try smiling once in a while. They looked like someone stole their puppy.More

Richly decorated interior, nice change from stark, modern, minimalist style. Large outdoor covered terrace that can be used year round. Waiters in suits, tablecloths, make for a European experience. Well orchestrated service from start to finish. Menu with many options to build a meal from...tapas on. Focused wine list with some good values. Pallea is a specialty. A classic evening.More

This was our first visit to Taberna Del Alabardero; located by searching online for nearby European foods. We were not disappointed – this place is amazing!! My girlfriend and I spent the day touring museums and were looking for a conveniently-located restaurant near our hotel...near Farragut Square. We made a reservation that day and asked for outside patio seating since it was a beautiful evening. We were seated immediately and ordered a nice bottle of wine. Since neither of us was hungry enough for a full meal, we decided on a variety of tapas. We ordered several to share. The Garlic Shrimp was amazing – I’ve never had fresher, more perfectly-prepared shrimp – anywhere! And their toast with apple spread was delicious. And their Whiskey pork tenderloin with potatoes was so good. We didn’t have room for dessert. We HIGHLY recommend Taberna Del Alabardero on your next trip to D.C.More

Very pretty and elegant spanish restaurant. Authentic spanish food. Attentive service. Good variety of chouces. The croquettes were good. Had ham and cheese. The cheese plate was pretty good. Wished it was an charcuterie platter. Would have made it excellent. The chicken and seafood paella...was generously proportioned. Decently priced. Great for special occasions. Worth the try.More
