Excellent food, American dinner, crab starter was killer. Oysters are always awesome here and specials sell out fast because they are so yummy!

It was cold outside and the line was long to get seated, but we found two nice spots at the bar. We were quickly greeted by the bartender, Stephon. It wasn't long before we were served our drinks and we ordered our food. We were here for lunch. Mrs. M had the salmon sandwich which was wonderful. I had the... More

Our Uber driver told us this place is a staple in DC so we decided to give it a try. It is located next to the Treasury building and within walking distance to the White House. We went on a Sunday night (the night before a federal holiday) and this place was busy. We were told it would be an... More

I have been coming here for many years for the nice food and atmosphere. I am also a great fan of the bar. The restaurant serves traditional American food, fish and meat. Very traditional and good. Make sure to be seated in the real restaurant and not the overflow room in the office building next door (which is dreadful).

I have always enjoyed my times at Old Ebbitt Grill. As a young RN we used to come here straight from night shift and enjoy mimosas and a heart breakfast. This is a must stop if visiting DC or even if you are a long established resident but have never been. It is busy and loud on the weekends but... More

A fellow airplane traveler recommended Old Ebbitt Grill and it did not disappoint! A very popular DC restaurant, our family of four was seated immediately in a cozy leather booth with a great view of the restaurant and bar. Our waitress was excellent and described the dishes asked of her and was always on top of our drink orders and... More

Back in 2010 when I tried it for the first time, the only thing I remembered was the green booths. 2016 was even better. The entire atmosphere was very old fashioned and the food was outstanding. If you are on a family vacation, this is a must... just do not go in smelling like sweat!!

Best oysters I've had in years. Ribeye was wonderful. Service couldn't be better. Drinks were amazing. The room we were in was very loud on this Friday night, and the tables for two in the front room are too close together. If you're coming for a romantic dinner for two, request a quieter room and a booth if they'l give... More
