A Washington D.C. Landmark. Located close to the White House and other tourist attractions. Old Ebbit Grill has been around for years, decorated like an vintage hunting lodge and specializing in fresh seafood, it's definitely worth a visit. Locals go in the evenings and enjoy the half off raw bar.

Great historic venue but cutting corners on food quality - chewy steaks sadly. Would go again but order the best cut of steak there is or a burger to be sure.

Historical, centrally located and fairly easy to get into with proper planning, as it's a pretty large place. The atmosphere is fairly relaxing, despite the liveliness of the place. It's a pretty safe bed for any meal, really. They've got a good menu that covers all your basics, but also "mixes it up" a little. Not too much, but it'll... More

My family often visits Old Ebbitt Grill for celebrations. They are very accommodating via spacing and the staff are always friendly. The ambiance is spectacular and the food quality is great. We have visited Old Ebbitt for both brunch and dinner. Both are excellent.

Located a stones throw from the White House we didn't expect to be able to get a table so were pleasantly surprised to be shown to a lovely booth straightaway. Cold water arrived quickly which was a welcome relief in the heat and soon our order was taken and drinks arrived which were topped up regularly throughout meal. All our... More

LOVE this place - not only because of the history, the old-world decor, excellent service, and a location close to the White House, but because it is one of the few restaurants in the area that is reasonably priced with FANTASTIC food! I make it a point to eat here every time I travel to DC, which is about twice... More

We stopped here for breakfast one day after a recommendation from the concierge. Food was decent, nothing spectacular. The typical eggs, pancakes, omelettes etc. The great thing was the ambiance, it was a very old restaurant/bar and had so much history in it. I'd recommend stopping by if you just wanted to take in some history. "Breakfast" was nothing spectacular,... More

This eating establishment has a long history in this community. The staff are so well versed in serving, the food good and the location great. The interior speaks kindly of days gone by. Do not miss this flagship of DC.

Great food and atmosphere. Had a cocktail at the bar and the bartender was very good. Our waiter wasn't as good. Got the wrong salad, but they quickly fixed it. Loved it!

Old Ebbitt Grill is a great historical restaurant very close to the White House. While their oysters are a huge draw here if you don't like oysters it is just a nice restaurant. For you oyster lovers, Old Ebbit Grill runs a daily special on oysters and chilled shrimp. The shrimp was lovely and the cocktail sauce was perfect! The... More
