I used to work at Treasury right across the street and out of all the places we loved most OEG was our favorite. Their weekly lunch menu was always great, but on Friday they used to sale a garlic Chicken that was absolutely divine. I took a date their one evening and it was an entire new atmosphere from our... This is a high end old american style restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh. Service was great. Be sure to make a reservation.
We first stopped in for lunch. The Crab & Artichoke dip appetizer was phenomenal! It was creamy and flavorful, served with a warm baguette. My wife and I both had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich entree, which was great! The sandwich had big slices of avocado, the chicken was well seasoned, and overall, it was well balanced. We loved lunch so... More
An iconic American Institution! We had a fantastic lunch with friends, drinks and dessert. Service was outstanding and it was worth the hour wait to be seated. Plenty of room at the bar to wait. Fish tacos, fish and chips and fried calamari were outstanding. Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding was a sweet treat to finish off the meal.
AH-MAZING. Granted it was packed but we were seated very quickly. The food was delicious, every single bite. For a group of six, the price was very reasonable. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
My mother and I went for dinner the night after the Women's March in January. The food was great, atmosphere wonderful, service was also awesome. People watching was the best.

Lots of dark wood, trophy mounts on the walls and a whiskey list impressive enough for anybody! I had really wanted a steak but the menu was somewhat limited on the night we visited. Settled for very delicious... More
I love this place and can't wait to go back next time im in DC. The service was fantastic. It's nice, but not in a stuffy way (we wore jeans). I wish I had gotten our waiter's name, but he was so helpful with suggestions and just so attentive. I'm a vegetarian and my partner is not, so finding a... More

I've been to dinner here and enjoyed it immensely. I remember it being quite noisy, which didn't bother me. I am, however, trying to decide if the Cabinet Room will accommodate a group of 50, and if the noise level is the same downstairs in this room as this will be a family/friends gathering after a funeral at Arlington Cemetery. It will be a celebration of life, and we can be a rowdy bunch of Irish people for sure, but I just want to be sure it is low-volume enough for those who want to speak or read something on behalf of my father (the deceased) so everyone can hear.
