If you only get to have one meal in DC, I would eat it here. The bar and restaurant are historical and the FOOD is great. I recommend drinking an Old Ebbitt's signature Bloody Mary.

Whenever we come to DC, this is a must-do restaurant. The food is incredible and service warm and welcoming. This last visit we had the fish and chips as well as the Salmon burger. Both, along with the artichoke crab dip were delicious. We also ordered the blood orange cocktails. Our server was very friendly and attentive especially considering she... More
This is one of our favorite places to go in DC. Interesting people, environment; always lively. My wife had a salmon-topped salad. I had sautéed chicken livers followed by oyster stew --- both delicious! Will look forward to going back again.
Classic old time restaurant with great steaks, cocktails and everything else. A very nice atmosphere and classy.
Last night we had dinner at Old Ebbits for 7:30pm. My mother and I arrived before the other person in our party and we're seated immediately in a lovely booth towards the from of the restaurant. The place was very busy but we had water and menus immediately then our waitress, Jade, stopped by with a big smile to say... More
This is a famous location, close to the White House. It is bustling, busy, and loud. You will be glad to have a reservation. We were unsure about which entree to choose, and our waitress brought them, split into two, in the kitchen. What a nice treat! Very attentive staff.
Such a lovely place filled with beautiful historic paintings. The food is excellent service as well. When sitting in the large dining area you really enjoy the ambience of this restaurant. Often visited by government officials very cool place .
We were staying at the Sofitel so we figured we had to try this place because of the history and the oysters. Very cool decor, loved the history. Beautiful room which hosted a big event the night we were there. Definitely make a reservation, thankfully we did and did not wait at all. If you don't get a booth, tables... More

The have nearly a dozen different varieties, and the half-price at happy hour makes a dozen at $16 a pretty good deal. I had the oysters Rockefeller which... More
