Au Bon Pain is a great sandwich and pastry restaurant. Good coffee. Very predictable. Nice breakfast sandwiches. My favorite is the smoked salmon wasabi. Smoked salmon, cucumbers, wasabi spread, herb cream cheese on a b as gel of your choice. GREAT! Danishes to die for....Cookies, muffins, and croissants. And for later in the day, don't forget the great soups.More

It was busy at lunch. The folks working there were very friendly. Sandwiches were good. My daughter described the cupcake as the best she has ever had

We were hot, tired and hungry. Our sandwiches were made quickly and they were good. They were cut in half, so my husband and I each had half of two different sandwiches and we were able to buy extra bottled water to take with us....I thought the bottled water was too expensive, but the sandwiches were about what we would have paid at home. And it was such a hot day that we had already depleted the water we carried with us, so we were glad for some cold water. There weren't a lot of tables (maybe 6), but the place wasn't crowd so there were several empty. (I think most people order for take-out.) We were happy to sit for a while in a cool place and enjoy our meal.More

Disappointing. Bakery shelf half empty, items mislabeled, there were no plates out, staff was inattentive. I was expecting better.

Stopped for sandwiches to go as we were leaving the downtown DC area. All the typical corporate menu items.

We stopped in for a loaf of French bread for dinner. The loaf was fresh and reasonably priced. Good, quick service and lots of treats available to snack on with a coffee.

Think of this place as a "Target" compared to a "Walmart", with Au Bon Pain being the "Target" and Dunkin Doughnuts being the "Walmart". The similarities are eerie. Au Bon Pain is costlier than Dunkin Doughnuts and their selections are not comparable. Try them out...once if you haven't been there yet. You ,might very well like it.More

We needed a quick bite to eat so we popped into this location. I had never been to one before and was so excited to try something new. How utterly confusing! It was not well marked. I was standing at apparently the salad counter and...had to a different case before they would wait on me to make my sandwich (I was the only customer ordering or even in line).....and to get through that counter there was some weird displays and corral lines placed that made no sense! I ordered a chicken salad...and before I could say what kind of bread I wanted the worker plopped the chicken salad on a dry boring piece of bread. And yes, the bread was DRIER than all get out! I paid the $7.36 for a sandwich that was not what I wanted and excited the place as quick as I could.......why was I in a rush to get out of there? It was hotter than hades in there!!!!! I actually chose to eat my sandwich OUTSIDE in hot humid 95 Plus degree temps! Maybe the heat is what made the workers grouchy and not at all friendly or helpful. I will NOT be back.More
