This place was delicious and amazing. My husband and I had initially come to the area for the Prime Rib but after driving around and not being able to find it even, we parked and then began walking down Connecticut Ave and stumbled upon this place. We decided to give it a chance. It was so worth it. We showed... More

Unusual venue and menu with humus as the base. Primarily vegetarian dishes. Very simple decore; probably best for carry out or delivery

According to its website, DGS Deli "offers 8-day house-cured pastrami, duck fat matzo balls, applewood smoked salmon, Montreal bagels and more," and it "brines, cures, smokes, and pickles everything it serves." Beverages are designed to "amplify" the deli's "bold flavors." The menu is varied, offering something for everyone. Service is personable. If you are in the Dupont Circle area, this... More

Visited DC for the weekend. We tried this deli since we were in the area! Loved every mouthful. We were there for dinner. The ambiance is so nice, pretty yet casual. I can't say enough about the Reuben sandwich. It was plenty big and the corned beef was lean. One person had the matzah ball soup. The rest ordered sandwiches.... More

Very underwhelming food in an upscale setting. The prices are the high on all items and it is not a "Deli" but a restaurant and should be labeled as such. I would never recommend this to anyone for lunch and our experience was unpleasant. Place is noisy and cramped. The corned beef was thick chunks, not slices, and the taste... More

I guess being a New Yorker It could not compare to a NY deli. I had the corned beef and it was thick and chewy and not tasty at all. The service was atrocious. the people at the counter were not very helpful. I asked for a straw and I was told that they didn't have any- so I pointed... More

We had a delightful brunch today at DGS Deli! Party of six - all very satisfied with the chosen dishes. Personally, I would highly recommend the pastrami hash - yum, yum! The portions are filling but not overdone. Service from Beth was excellent.

Traditional deli food in urban setting. Corned beef was solid and flavorful albeit a bit fatty. Pickle bowl well quite good. Lively room but very loud.

I had been looking forward to trying DGS for years and when I finally did, it was extremely disappointing. I had the Pastrami on Rye and it was cold, the bread was over seasoned and the meat was very fatty. Not only is it ridiculously overpriced ($15 for a small sandwich), but it was very unsatisfying. The coleslaw that came... More

Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the menu, but to be fair, my friends didn't have the same issue. I tried the potato latkes. They were just alright. Nothing too memorable, a little thick and a little too greasy for my tastes.
