This is a very attractive restaurant and I had heard it was very good. I was in the mood for a fancy pizza for lunch but it was so disappointing. The crust was like matzoh -- that is not a good thing. Although the ingredients sounded fabulous on the menu, they had little taste. I wished I had ordered something... More

Couples came to this restaurant because it was in walking distance of our hotel . We were all in town to see a caps game. Sat in the bar area and ordered drinks and 2 pizzas to share between 4 people , funghi & capricciosa pizzas were delicious. Our server was very nice as well ! We all would return... More

We went to the restaurant for lunch with friends at the weekend. I can imagine this being a very busy place on a weekday lunch. The seats were comfortable, the service was very obliging (and genuine). The food, whilst a little expensive (you are paying for downtown DC rents) was generous and flavoursome. I thought our meal was very good... More

Three of us met for a "high end" lunch. This is the kind of place beginning to rest on what it once was and is still decent, but you can do much better for the price in the area. Atmosphere could use a refresh to stay modern. Lobster bisque: lacked cream and texture, along with taste -- we all had... More

Six of us were here for brunch today. The place is comfortable and is the ground floor of what used to be the Woodward & Lothrup department store - the venerable 'Woodies' of my youth. Brunch isn't a buffet, as one merely orders off the menu, and the selections are a sort of Southern eclectic variety. It's not typical breakfast... More

Wow - great dinner last night! We ordered the Oysters and Ceviche as appetizers and the salumi pizza and crab cakes as entrees. With the exception of the Ceviche, we loved everything! Also, the homemade dinner rolls are absolutely delicious. We asked for seconds :) Very good and informed service and a great atmosphere.

Visited during D.C. Restaurant Week lunch. For $22 you got your choice of one appetizer, one entree and one dessert. There was no one choice that was better than the other. The portions were large. The desserts were divine. A good choice for Restaurant Week.

We went for lunch on a blustery, cold day. We didn't have a reservation; it was a spur of the moment stop after touring. There was a 10-15 minute wait, no one in front of us, several empty tables. No one left before we were eventually seated. We understand staffing and how seating works. It seemed odd. The hostesses (3... More

This place is a classic building with a modern style. The red drum was delicious and the pear cobbler was divine. The waiter was French, and a beautiful person, realized we were visiting form Oklahoma and the chef came over to meet us. Just a great place to eat.

Description
Jeffrey and Sallie Buben's Woodward Table, housed in the historic Woodward Building is a concept that exudes a timeless feel with neighborhood charm. Located just one block from The White House, Woodward presents a "table" of dining possibilities with two eateries...the main restaurant with its creative and diverse American menu and Woodward Takeout Food, a sprite artisanal alternative for breakfast and lunch. The soul of Woodward Table's cooking involves creating seasonal iconic American dishes, a chef's contemporary approach and a regional repertoire of ingredients. Woodward Takeout Food, aka WTF, adjacent to the restaurant, creates a quick serve American breakfast or lunch for the busy Washingtonian, available to eat in or take out.
Woodward Takeout Food is like being in a good cook's kitchen...a venue of sights and sounds with the bakery of the entire restaurant located at one end. Smell the fresh baked bread and other concoctions as you place your ord
