Aside from great heros and my fav is the meatball sub, the balsamic vinegars and virgin olive oil selection for us cooks is the joint. Also if you love the tonno from Italy and anchovies this is the place to get them. LOVE Liteeri

Fax your order in to save time! Fed my team (15) with each being able to order their own sub. Terrific.

DC institution that is showing its age in a time where more is expected of even basic comfort food. In contrast, Bub and Pops gets that and does a more modern take on comfort subs of the same variety better. Sub rolls were not all that great if supposed to be authentic Italian bread rolls. Lunch meats were cut too... More

We went here with some friends who have known the current owner since 1973. The store is located right next to Gallaudet University in a semi-seedy line of warehouses. But appearances can be deceiving! Once inside the store you will be greeted with an enormous selection of olive oils, pastas, cheese, wines and other gourmet items. The deli is fantastic... More

This place is best for sandwiches is DC better yet the best in the DMV! The meats and breads are so so fresh and delicious! The lunch time is very busy but it is well worth the wait! You will not be disappointed with your sandwich! Family owned and the staff is friendly and accommodating! Love..Love this place for sandwiches!

The food is worth the search! You can speak English Italian Spanish or sign. Galaudet University is next store with Hotel rooms for the public. Wine and olive oil tastings are a regular thing. A great example of knowing where to go. Now you do.

This place is nestled into a shady warehouse district just West of Gallaudet University on Morse and 6th st NE (across from Subway). Delicious subs are a hit! Prepare to wait a while for it if you haven't called or faxed it in ahead. But they are worth waiting for. While you are waiting, browse the extensive Italian grocery and... More

I love this place. One of DC's best kept secrets. They have an excellent wine and cheese selection. The wine expert is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. You can grab lunch here too. They make great sandwiches and pasta.

It is quite difficult to find a good Italian market in DC - and this more than fits the bill! It is in the warehouse district around Union Market, but it is only one of the fully functioning stores in the original warehouses. The area is a bit rough around the edges, but once you're inside, the shelves are literally... More
