I've eaten at the District Kitchen five or six times since early May, having moved to the neighborhood, so I can tell you that the restaurant consistently turns out delicious food, made with fresh ingredients, using interesting and novel recipes. I have never had a...More

A friend and I had an unmemorable meal here outside here as the sun set one night. I had the eight ounce burger which was very dry and the two glasses of red I ordered were sour. The staff were nice and the noise levels...More

A business dinner with colleagues was a truly pleasurable experience. A crab/roasted corn toast for an appetizer, pan seared shrimp over polenta for the main and a huge and smooth tiramisu in a very pleasant urban diner setting. Staff are efficient and friendly. Overall and...More

We visited District Kitchen mid morning on a Saturday. Our food was hot, tasty and well portioned. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the brisket hash which was very good. My family all enjoyed their meals. Atmosphere was nice but relaxed. Great choice...More

Located right down the street from the Woodley Park Metro Stop and Omni Shorewood Hotel is a hidden gem of D.C. We started off the meal with a Blackberry Mojito. One word: AMAZING. After an almost 100 degree day, this was the perfect drink to...More

Although small in room size, excellent food and very good service. We were a party of seven and received with a prompt and attentive manner, making us feel special and welcome. The only disappointment was the dreary restroom which could be overlooked with the warm...More

To start the food has good flavor however I wasn't a fan of the pico on top of my Shrimp and Polenta dish. The bitterness of pico distracted the savory flavor of the rest of the dish and seemed very out of place. Overall... Okay...More

A smaller restaurant very convenient to the Woodley Park/Zoo metro. Stopped in for an early dinner with a co-worker while on business in DC. My co-worker had eaten here on a prior business trip and raved about it. But I was not impressed by anything-...More

Cozy restaurant is open only after 5 PM on Wednesday. Outdoor seating available. Reminiscent of small local restaurants in Europe. The food was excellent and wines very good. Price was very reasonable for Washington DC and the quality of food.

It was fairly loud in there at dinner time, hard floors and high ceilings. A small table for two should be ok, but we had a large table of eight and it was hard to hear the folks at the other end.
