After reading the reviews we decided to give it a try and since we are not locals we were really trusting those reviews. I got there with high expectations but once inside I realized My expectations were down. I asked the server for 5 different kinds of empanadas from the menu and none of them were available. First disappointment. He... More

Panas was only steps away from my hotel, and I gave it a try for lunch. The empanadas were baked, not greasy at all. The selection of fillings was impressive and inventive. I chose three that worked very well for my tastes, and they gave me a fourth one free. For a beverage, I tried their passionfruit juice drink. Usually... More

This place in unassuming and is easy to ignore unless you ask a local where to get good grub. More than a few people we met included Panas on their list of good food to eat in our hotel's area. I'm glad my wife and I took their advice. You buy these savory or sweet pastries in combos or individually.... More

Small modern place on P street serves some of the tastiest empanadas around. 14 different kinds with 4 choices of dipping sauce. Priced at $2.50 each, this make for a delicious inexpensive meal. About 7 tables inside and some seating outside in front. A really enjoyable place.

We came across Panas while walking in the Dupont Circle area early Sunday afternoon. The fresh and not fried empanadas choices were interesting, with favorites including chicken and goat cheese, mushroom and ham with cheese. The blueberry dessert one was fabulous also. Very small place with limited seating. Perfect lunch spot.

Food was great; excellent selection and I liked the way you could individualize our selections and serving size - something for everyone! But most of all - LOVED the gentleman who waited on us. He was so friendly and positive. He even remembered our names (after having taken them for our orders) when he saw us on the street a... More

The empanadas here are a little smaller and harder than I would have liked. And their flavors were not my favorite. But at $2.50 per piece, it was great for a quick snack on the way to a late dinner.

Panas specializes in Latin fusion gourmet empanadas, crescent- shaped turnovers, stuffed with well seasoned combinations of meats, vegetables, spices, fruits, and sweets. Our recipes are inspired by the idea of Latin Fusion cuisine; a culinary concept based on creating new recipes by combining traditional and modern culinary techniques and mixing ingredients from different countries in the Americas. The only empanadas’ tradition we want to preserve is that empanadas a great idea and fun package for food.
