I had the most memorable days back in Belgium, and this place made me remember all the good stuff that I had there, mussels... Fries... Belgian Beer... and to be fair, they have a great hamburger! Both places are good, the one at Jefferson's and the other one in Connecticut Ave.!!

My Flemish stew was very good, and my wife reported the mussels were excellent. The waffle we had for dessert was slightly overdone, but the batter it was made from was superb so it was still good. Next time I go I'll ask for the stew to be beside the Frits rather than on top. But overall we really enjoyed... More

On our last night in D.C., after a long and exhausting graduation weekend, we decided to go out for simple fare near our hotel. In a few blocks we arrived at St. Arnold's, a step down, slightly darkened, cavern of a restaurant. We all, save one, ordered a version of the top four recommended mussel dishes. They were all very... More

If you are looking for a stateside trip to Brussels go to St. Arnold's Mussel Bar. This place has DELICIOUS mussels in a huge variety of preparations - as well as other entrees - and a large selection of beers. It was just the right thing on a Sunday night after a busy weekend.

Our friends knew this place and brought us here for dinner. The menu offers a good variety of mussel options (as well as many beers). The mussels were quite good, and each different pot of mussels had a different flavor. The fries that came with it were good (although oddly served a few minutes in advance of the mussels), and... We popped by this place for the second time, mainly because I love Belgian beer. I was crossing my fingers that it wasn't as busy as the last time, since this is a small place and describing it as "cozy" may be a bit of an overreach. But we lucked out – and not just on the crowd. We sat... More

Funky rustic small hole-in-the-wall walk down restaurant. This place is known more to the locals than the typical DC tourist. At least a dozen type simmer sauces for the mussels, we enjoyed the Spicy Thai. Mussels come with fries and bread for dipping. Nice selection of craft European beers. Great place for family or friends gathering.

St. Arnold's is a cozy little Mussel & Beer Bar, and when I say cozy I mean tight, small and noisy. Don't get me wrong, the food was great and the beer was even better. To get away from the Friday night noise, we ended up at a very crowded, but less noisy bourbon bar. Anyway... The mussel steam pots... More

Consistently love the mussel dishes and it has a great selection of good Belgian beer. Of course great fries, too. I hear the other food selections are good, too, just haven't tried them despite visiting 10 or so times. Nice atmosphere in a below street level place with lots of wood panels and tables and bar. Service is quite professional.... More

This is a relatively small bar and grill with a commensurately small menu focusing on Belgian-style stews and (of course) mussel platters. Also very tasty Belgian waffles, if you're looking for something sweet. Nice beer list, as you'd expect from a bar with a Belgian flair. The service is friendly and casual. The food took a very long time to... More
