Service was friendly. The Ethiopia. Beer cold. We enjoyed this meal - we had the vegetarian and meat tasters served on a large injera bread which I hadn't realised was cold. First time eating Ethiopian and I thought the spicier vegetable and meats were really quite good whilst the blander ones not so good. I was also surprised at the... More

Two family members had been to this restaurant and liked it so much they insisted we go when I got to town. I get it. It was so good. The 3 of us ordered the Vegetarian Sampler and the Beef Tibs. Everything was delicious, we had more than enough food, drinks, excellent service for under $100 w/o tip. Go!

We've eaten here before and had good memories. Not so much this time. The wait staff was awkward and we wondered what we had done to offend them! The food was bland, tasteless. We all got a mix of vegetarian and meat. It's the first time I've left an Ethiopian restaurant hungry! My lamb was the most boring food ever.... More

The service was extremely slow, which is unusual for what appeared to be a "family" run and operated restaurant. They appeared not to take much pride in their establishment. The chief's idea of cuisine seemed to be a whole lot of hot sauce and vinegar. On top of that the restrooms were not particularly clean and it was a little... More

Try the combination vegetarian and meat platters, they are great. Wine with honey was good as well. Very good service.

This place is great! They are very gluten friendly! Definitely recommend. Not a big restaurant so watch the busy times for seating.

Title says it all. Great fresh ingredients. Well-spiced but not too heavily. Great portions. Good Ethiopian beer. Open air and a nice environment. Good prices. We usually get the veggie sampler with a side of a meat like Doro Wat ... perfect for two.

So far I've tried several Ethiopian restaurants in DC, Ethiopic is an upper scale version. Food was good, but not the best. We ordered lamb, beef awase tibes and the vegetarian sample to share with friends. Service was slow. And they charged us for each coffee without telling us there was no refill.

Beautiful venue on eclectic H St. Love the experience of eating each bite with fingers. Everything tasted so uniquely wonderful and service was very good.
