This was some of the worst service I’ve ever had. We waited 2 hours for 1 appetizer as 2 entrees. The forgot my order and the waiter ignored our presence. I would strongly recommend dinning somewhere else!!

Excellent experience overall. Impeccable service, excellent quality, inventive food and a great experience. I suggest trying the tasting menu - wonderful experience from start to finish.

I ate here last night with my friend and her baby- everything was AMAZING! To start, everything was super clean, I saw the employees thoroughly cleaning after each table left, everything was socially distanced, and staff were all wearing masks, so I felt comfortable that...everyone was following covid restrictions. We asked our server and manager to make suggestions for what we should order (it was my first time here) and mannn they did not disappoint! I had been on a diet to get rid of my quarantine weight, but mannnn, that diet went out the window! Highlights were the gol gappa, tandoori phool, burrata, and the butter chicken. SO SO SO good! The presentation was gorgeous, food was delicious, servers and manager were so nice and had the best suggestions- for sure one of the best restaurants in DC.More

My friend and I went for the first time on Sunday, this food and experience was incredible! The service was fantastic, you can tell that from the server to the manager, they are passionate about the diner's experience. We did the tasting menu (though technically...it was not a brunch offering) and were truly blown away by the flavors in each dish. The Gol Explosion lived up to its name and the mid-point palate cleanser (wildberry gastronomical delight) was a lovely way to refresh before we went into our entrees (sea bass and lamb). 5 stars! For sure, I will be back and highly recommend this to others after a foodie experience and taste bud treat. Well done!More

I'm an Indian (25M). Let's put that aside first. Been coming here for the past year regularly, always impressed with their consistent, top quality dishes that easily take the likes of Bukhara, Junoon and Indian Accent head on (perhaps took that for granted, too). Since...the first day I started coming here, always knew this place was the Indian restaurant most worthy of a Michelin star in this part of the world (definitely more deserving than the other one across town that already has one). Never wrote reviews because I strictly believe in word of mouth (also lazy), but you got to see this, for real. Going with the 7 course tasting menu has been the best investment I've ever made and I scored an Msi GP63 Leopard with a GTX1070 + i7-8750H for 1299 back in 2018. Had an out of body experience and felt I had ascended to another plane. That was of course, until Chef Jassi came out with the third course. Everything after that was a dream. I'm not going to ruin it for you, because the whole menu was a surprise and Chef Jassi took great pride in knocking me out in every single course. Make no mistake, I took great pleasure in being knocked out. Maybe one spoiler: Your understanding of what constitutes a samosa and a lassi is definitely going to change. And it also ends with a "bang". Had Indian food all my life, also take pride in enjoying cuisines of every place I travelled to. This experience took me back to my best childhood memories and kicked the arrogance right out of them. Wish I could re-experience the first time I had the seven course meal. Life seems dull since then. No, I was not on any substances before, during or after this meal. Yes, those are real paintbrushes and they were extremely important for one of the courses. Unfortunately, I inhaled most of the courses before the sense came to me to take a photo which is why I'm putting in the most abstract photos I could. You have to try this before you die, at least once.More

Reading previous reviews only confirms our experience the other evening at the Punjab Grill. I agree our party of four felt the owners and staff were taking precautions seriously, with gloved servers and menus wiped. The decor is extraordinary with much attention paid to detail....The staff are energetic, knowledgeable, impeccable and efficient. The food exquisite! We tried many different items and all were creative, fresh, beautifully plated and a treat for the tastebuds. With all of the quality restaurants in DC, do not miss this one!More

Visited Punjab Grill with dear friends celebrating my wife’s and my Birthdays. WE have heard so many good things about the restaurant that we were quite excited to visit and be able to sample the food. I reached out to ask if it was OK...to take pictures and the response was YES. Before checking in, great efficient valet parking. And on seeing me take pictures of my wife in front of the restaurant, staff immediately offered to take our pictures. Such service even BEFORE entering, we already had a great vibe. On entering before our friends , we asked for a booth in a special area our friends told us about but it was closed and only open on weekends. While waiting for our table, we were highly impressed that the hostess cleaned every menu down with wipes so we could be assured they were clean. Waiters wearing gloves and clearly Karan Singh the owner is taking the current situation seriously and ensuring the safety of guests. VERY IMPRESSED. We passed by a bar that was really awesome and you could see the imported marble all around. Looks and I bet it was expensive showing again throughout the restaurant that Mr. Singh has spared no expense. We were seated and started ordering: Gol Gappa which was the most delicious tasting ones we have had anywhere. 4 to an order with avocado, passion fruit, apple which was so awesome we ordered 2 more orders. Aloo Tikki Chaat was super and malai chicken alfredo (we received an order extra as there as a slight mix up on. Again nice of the restaurant) Main courses were dal tarka (my favorite and really tasty); Kathal Kofta was excellent ; Malabar machi Chilean sea bass was soft and succulent, vegan goat biryani that was delicious with everything. Lachaha parantrha and naan also went with everything. For dessert kheer, faluda and cheesecake tastefully with candles for our birthdays. Before leaving the GM showed us around especially the private dining room which was tastefully decorated Take a look at the pictures as they showcase the restaurant and food much better than this review could. Highly recommend it to others and for those worried about going out, this restaurant is the only one we have visited over the past several days that made us feel safe under the circumstances. Great food, service and location. Having not just staff come by to check on us but Mr. Singh was extra special.More

Not only does this restaurant serve up gourmet Punjabi food but it does so within a restaurant that is museum worthy. The hand carved wood and stone is mesmerizing. The entire spot it truly a work of art. Service is top flight as well, and...the food does not disappoint. The menu is nice and varied and all of our dishes, appetizers, mains and desserts were all delicious. Really good. The cocktails were also interesting and delicious. The prices are not cheap but I agree with the previous reviewer, it is truly a fantastic experience.More

This is a beautiful restaurant, with interesting cocktails, fantastic food, and very good service. Not your typical Indian food, and we savored every morsel. It can be noisy though.

I had a high expectation from this place and it was so disappointing that the vegan goat biryani which came with a jackfruit and I didn’t realize. I was looking for a real goat meat, but sadly I ordered a pick up. When I opened...up the box the food portion was not even half of the to go box( low portion) however end up paying more than a $30(way to overpriced). The biryani taste like nothing that I ever had in my life. That sucks😕More
