Fabio and Maria Trabocchi bring the flair and fare of coastal Spain to the District Wharf in celebration of their family traditions and tastes. Located at the District Wharf, DC's most exciting new destination, Del Mar is a celebration of Maria's Spanish heritage and the family's traditions created and preserved at their home on the island of Mallorca. Featuring authentic seafood fare and flavors from the coasts of Spain, the robust menu includes tapas, raw bar, charcoal grilled fish, seafood stews, and a variety of rice dishes (yes, paella)! The space, not to be outdone by the menu, is a feast for the eyes. A visit here will feel like a mini getaway with walls of windows to drink in the views,…
The food excellent, authentic , flavorful - although the main lacked a gravitas to go with the price - stick to the tapas, many almost main size - or a shared paella - wine list excellent, but mostly upper range, need more $40-60 choices -...More
Very high mark up on the prices. Excellent food but everything is overpriced which annoys most people. However, their jamon iberico, Pulpo a la Gallega and Andalusian Gambas al Ajillo as tapas were all outstanding. They have no draft, so I tried Spanish Estrella beer....More

First-rate food, drink, and service. Food, from appetizers to dessert, was well prepared and presented. Service was crisp without being rushed. Compared to other places on the wharf, noise level was manageable.
It all started well. Greeted warmly and sat outside by the waterfront. Unfortunately, that's where it finished.
Long waits for water, wine, mixed up orders. Tapas was quite nice, wine was not cold enough, as it was left outside in a bucket of melted ice....More
Could food of comparable quality be had in Spain for much less money? Undoubtedly yes, but the cost aside, Del Mar is a very well thought-out and executed concept. The interior is very attractive, the service attentive, the produce of high quality and the famous...More
