We had to make reservations for breakfast. No problem, since this was the norm in DC. But the food just wasn't that great. Just average.More

Hi Suzanne, I'm so sorry to read that you felt the food was just average! We never want to be described that way - we always want to knock your socks off! In the future, please do not hesitate to let your server know if...More

Very similar experience to FFB out at Foggy Bottom. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Portions were well worth the price

We went for brunch but unfortunately we found it to be average and overpriced. You can order the tipical choices but nothing really tasty or different. Service is also average. The waiter was not the friendliest and was always in a rush. We understand the...More

This restaurant is definitely a hot spot, so many people were waiting for a table to open up. My family and I dined here for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday. Word of advice, make a reservation in advance like I did, you won't regret it. The...More

8 of us ate here and thank goodness we had reservations! The place is packed and the food is worth it. One person needs gluten free foods and our waiter was very helpful. The food is amazing - farm to table - lots of variety...More

My family ate at Founding Farmers during a recent trip to Washington, DC. Be sure to get a reservation for dinner. It was delicious. My son had the chicken and waffles--the waffles were light and fluffy and the chicken was cooked perfectly and so juicy!...More

What a surprise this place is. Decorated so nice and comfortable. Hosted by Jeremy. Served by Nelson. He suggested a house speciality drink. Great recommendations for all of our group. Had a Sazerac made by Brian. As far as dinner went all 10 in the...More

This place was right across the street from our hotel, walked over 5 minutes before opening and it was already packed at 9 am on a Sunday! Luckily, we were able to get 2 seats at the bar right away (we didn't know they take...More

Wow, shocked to find a line waiting when doors opened at 9a (!) on a Saturday. A little precious on the farm to table decor which has nothing to do with location or building but the food is exceptional, the service friendly and efficient. Portions...More

9-2. Make a reservation even on a weekday. I made one the night before for a Friday morning & was very glad I did. The wait would have been 45 min. Without the reservation.

Description
Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
