Great place for outstanding food at a casual restaurant. Service was great and the food was amazing from the cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. We had no room for desserts. Make sure to make reservations or you will have a long wait.

I brought my 18 year old son here for supper. I made reservations, make reservations, so we were seated quickly. It was 6pm. The place was packed. It was very very loud. Like I said, packed. The tables are very close together. So if you have chatty neighbours, you won't be able to hold much of a conversation. It was... More

You have to make reservations through the restaurant or Open Table to get in to this place. The place is ALWAYS packed, or was the week we were visiting the area. The food is really good, however, and that is probably why it's so busy. We only made it for dinner but enjoyed our food and dessert! I got the... More

Go there a lot for work dinners and have never been disappointed in the food. Cocktails are also great, try the clementine for a spicy citrusy tequila drink. Gets real busy so plan ahead or go early.

My family and I visited Founding Farmers during our summer trip to DC. The restaurant was packed but with our reservation we were seated very quickly. The restaurant is a two story restaurant with a strong farm to table emphasis. Owned by a coop of North Dakota farmers the restaurant has a strong menu with many casual and very reasonably... More

On my recent visit to Washington DC (last week) I was there for five days and ate breakfast at this restaurant 3 times and dinner once! Guess that tells you how much I liked it. They have a second location on the Washington Harbor which I discovered on my last day so didn't eat there but it looked great too.... More

I always make a point to go here for brunch. Great egg Benedict's, fresh scrambles and the Beignets are amazing. Everything is fresh. Great coffee. Need reservations. Always crowded but worth the wait. A family favorite. Easy access from the subway. Highly recommend.

We were recommended to go here for breakfast and were not disappointed. The breakfast selection is extensive and filling. They have an excellent full bar. Surprising to see so many ell-heeled patrons having cocktails so early in the day!

This is a really busy and buzzy restaurant where you can e pet to wait in excess of an hour ( regardless of what they tell you when you check in) so do book ahead if you can. Food is very good and cocktails are great but it's not cheap. Service is ok but not outstanding as they are basically... More

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
