Had breakfast just after landing in DC and selected FF based on Trip Advisor reviews. Visited on a Friday morning about 10 AM and wait time was about 20 minutes. Place was very busy, but saw the food coming out to the tables and it looked really, really good. Server was friendly and my wife had eggs and potatoes, I... More

I was there for dinner with my family. The food was very good (try the chicken pot pie). Service was friendly and the value quite good. I didn't expect to see so many sub $20 entrees. It fills up very quickly after 6 - I'd advise a table upstairs. Ground floor gets pretty noisy, but still manageable.

We had just arrived in DC for our 3 night stay and were a little hungry around 3pm. We went for a wander from our hotel on H street and stumbled along this quaint little restaurant. We walked in and were seated straight away (found out later that we arrived at a good time, because it's usually bookings only as... More

Founding Farmers in Foggy Bottom of DC was an inspiring building for a restaurant, great service, and FARM FRESH meats vegetables so very well prepared. I don't eat meat unless I know it is clean - pastured with no nothing added. I got to have sausage, eggs that with bright orange yolks, and best of all TASTY. We found it... More

Book ahead, fresh farm to table with some unique dishes, inventive cocktails, and micro brew beers. Tried this restaurant 4 years ago and was staying nearby with my family and returned for another round. Still busy and popular place and my teens enjoyed the food. Seated upstairs this time in a comfortable booth and service was prompt and attentive. You... More

I had to title my review as such because I hear a lot of people complain about Founding Farmers for rather stupid reasons; I think it's because of the hype that this place gets and people feel the need to bring it down. I live pretty close to it so I eat here a good bit and am never have... More

Had a great family dinner here. Be sure you try the cornbread with sea salt & honey butter...wonderful! The chicken pot pie was delicious and way too much for one person, the goat cheese ravioli with butternut squash and chicken was fabulous. Finally, make reservations...its in a busy and popular area, and filled up by 6pm on a Wednesday night.

My son and I walked in off the street at peak dinner hour. Despite the wait-line we were seated within 20 minutes. The menu is large and creative in an Americana- sort of way. We were seated on the 1st floor, near the kitchen and it was really fun watching the various plates and drink come out. Our waiter was... More

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
