My families favorite places for brunch. The stuffed French toast it to die for. Make reservations, often a long wait.

We had a 4:15 reservation, showed up early and accidentally sat to wait in a reservation only section near the bar. One of the hostesses rudely shuffled over and made us move to the VERY inadequate waiting area. Several people w/o reservations were seated ahead of us. Our server was good but not exceptional and the food was the same;... More

And Noisey, very Noisey but hey, a young DC crowd, great bar and that's what you get. However, when yu get beyond the glamore and hype it is a "diner menu" that is all over the place! Not known for any particular type of food you find it hard to make up your mind. Bar menu stuff, meatloaf, prime rib-... More

The staff was extremely kind, courteous and attentive. Everything from start to finish was a joy. The drink selection was plentiful and the service was quick. We had chicken and waffles .....wow.....it was delicious! Our server was friendly and very helpful. We would recommend Founding Farmers to friends.

My family of 3 arrived for breakfast and the woman at reception initially ignored me whilst talking to another staff member. She then told me the wait would be 15-20 minutes. She wasn't very friendly. After about 5-10 minutes we were advised seats were available. From here on in the restaurant was fantastic. The coffee was very good, the food... More

We've tried to eat at Founding Farmers on several occasions while in DC over the past year. Recently, we finally made a reservation for mid-afternoon and were able to get in without too much of a wait. We ordered the pickled vegetables as an appetizer and all that it consisted of were pickles and a bit of red peppers -... More

One of the best restaurants anywhere! We were in DC for a week and could not get a reservation until later in our stay, but we would have eaten here more often! There are good reasons why this place is so busy! We had both dinner and breakfasts here and everything was just outstanding. They pride themselves on farm fresh,... More

Visited on a Wednesday evening around 6 p.m and the restaurant was heaving. You could sit at a packed bar for a drink but it really caters for those who want to eat. The drinks were more expensive than other local bars and restaurants - $18 for two small beers and $50 for three wines. Food was usual steak and... More

We wanted to finish off an extended visit to DC after a family event with a nice meal for the two of us. Friends recommended Founding Farmers, which was a block from our hotel. On entering, it was very friendly but the noise level was pretty high. When we were escorted to the second floor, the decibel level dropped dramatically.... More

If u are meat eater and into heavily salted food, u might like this place. We went to Tysons location for a brunch. I've had much better buffets elsewhere, even in KY.

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
