Went here with my wife and two teens. No reservation (I would recommend it), but we got in after about a 30 minute wait. Wonderful food and great service.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend from Washington DC. We read about it here on TripAdvisor and in the Eastern USA Lonely Planet. These are undoubtedly the best adverts to draw customers in. Having been warned about the long wait just to get a table, we registered our names at 7:45pm and were told that we would... More

This place is super cute and has great food. We were lucky enough to get a reservation for Saturday brunch and it was very crowded in there. I had the farmers breakfast (the hash browns were so good!) and my boyfriend had chicken and waffles (he ate every bite). Would definitely recommend and can't wait to go back!

Traveling on business, the hotel in Dupont Circle recommended Founding Fathers. Short walk down Pennsylvania Ave. Place was packed at 5pm. I took a bar seat, and was promptly greeted by the bartender for a drink and menu. The menu is mostly starters, breads and small plates. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but went with the signature... More

The queue outside Founding Farmers on Sunday morning made us very pleased to have made reservations. We had between us pancakes, banana bread, hash and eggs. The service was fast and staff helped with choices. We enjoyed it so much we had breakfast there 3 times during our stay. Reserve a table and enjoy the farmers hard work.

The cranberry Brie veggie burger was good. It is not the best veggie burger you will ever have, but it is very solid. My only complaint is that it could have had more cranberry and Brie. The arugula salad that came with the burger was great. It has tomatoes, grapes, cucumber and a root vegetable (parsnip or maybe turnip). Very... More

One of the top 2 restaurants I've eaten at in DC. You MUST try the cornbread appetizer and the chicken & waffles were awesome. They are also known for chicken pot pie but that's not my thing. For dessert, the best beignets outside of New Orleans. Appetizer, two entrees and dessert for less than $50. Only possible downside is that... More

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
