We read about this place on Yelp. The food was fine but a little overpriced. I'm not uote sure why there is so much hype??

The food was about average for the price and the service was slow as is expected here. I would not order the chili again.

I have been to this restaurant many times. This was my first poor experience. I ordered their rotisserie chicken which came out dry as a bone. I never do this, but I had to send it back. Instead I ordered their mini burger sliders which were delicious. As usual, the place was packed, even for lunch, so I recommend making... More

A little crowded and a little noisy, but quieter upstairs and the waiter gladly led us there upon request. This was our first visit to a "Farm to Table" restaurant but it won't be the last. The food was really outstanding in every respect, from preparation to quality, to taste and presentation, everything was just wonderful.

Heard about this place and decided to try. Was told the wait would be 20 mins and said ok 40 mins later and not seated I started getting agitated and went to the reservationist for the 3rd time and was seated only because the other girl said let's seat them. Ordered the vegetable pan eggs and it was disgusting and... More

We were only in the city for 3 days and managed to eat 2 meals here due to the first one being SO amazing. We had great service both times and the food was perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly.

We were lucky and found street parking on 19th St in DC, very close to Founding Farmers. They were busy and the entry was crowded. We had reservations. Food was very good. For dinner, I had Chicken and Waffles, one of their Signature dishes. 😬 This was a wonderful dish. Service was okay.

We walked by Founding Farmers on our first day in DC and the line was out the door. We looked online and found we could make a breakfast reservation. I'm glad we made a reservation. The food is quite good, as was the service. At the same time the tables are too close together and it is impossible to have... More

this got well rated on Trip Advisor and it met with its ratings. The food was delicious. Fresh and wholesome, and so flavorful. I am a vegetarian and the menu options were incredible. The vegetable loaf was recommended and it was flavorful at every bite. the wine selection was fantastic. Cozy atmospher and nice corner location of DC. I would... More

We had Thanksgiving here last week. It was a pre-fixed menu with some choices in drinks, soup/salad, entree and dessert. We had the autumn squash soup (very good), and the turkey with two different pies. We come here often and were not disappointed.

Description
Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
