We visited here with our friends from Arlington. We had a table booked but it was horrendously busy when we arrived so we still had to wait to be seated. The restaurant was very noisy so it was difficult to hear when our name was being called to be seated, why do they not have a pager system? The service... More

We tried the Founding Farmers after our morning visit outside the White House. We hit a good time and our party of 8 was seated quickly. When we left, there was a line of folks waiting. I thought the breakfast menu was extensive. There was no children's menu or portions, but our server was very helpful in providing juice in... More

This is a serious place for a delicious brunch. The beignets are outstanding, the black pepper maple bacon is outrageously good, and the stuffed French toast is decadent. Long waits without a reservation, but a great way to start a weekend day !

This place gets busy, so a reservation is recommended (or sit at the bar). Excellent breakfast - waffles and eggs benedict were top-notch - and the service was outstanding. If you're an appreciator of good coffee, have the French Press pot. You won't regret it.

My families favorite places for brunch. The stuffed French toast it to die for. Make reservations, often a long wait.

We had a 4:15 reservation, showed up early and accidentally sat to wait in a reservation only section near the bar. One of the hostesses rudely shuffled over and made us move to the VERY inadequate waiting area. Several people w/o reservations were seated ahead of us. Our server was good but not exceptional and the food was the same;... More

And Noisey, very Noisey but hey, a young DC crowd, great bar and that's what you get. However, when yu get beyond the glamore and hype it is a "diner menu" that is all over the place! Not known for any particular type of food you find it hard to make up your mind. Bar menu stuff, meatloaf, prime rib-... More

The staff was extremely kind, courteous and attentive. Everything from start to finish was a joy. The drink selection was plentiful and the service was quick. We had chicken and waffles .....wow.....it was delicious! Our server was friendly and very helpful. We would recommend Founding Farmers to friends.

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
