Had a very quick dinner here the other night. I loved the look of the place, it is very modern Indian, with a hip feeling. The menu choices are few but anyone can get a delicious meal here. I am vegan so there were only...More

So, I had reservations on a Friday night at neighboring Founding Farmers. We arrived early, and couldn't even make it into the door at Founding Farmers to get a drink, so we walked across the street to Bindass for a drink. We almost cancelled our...More

Delicious food, excellent service, great setting. Everything about this restaurant was wonderful - plus we discovered "Paul Bakery" next door. Definitely on the list for our next visit! Whether you're going as a couple or with friends - Bindaas will not disappoint.

If you inspect the menu before arriving, it's going to look a little sparse. You may wonder if you'll still be hungry afterwards. Don't be worried -- this is quite filling fare, whether you stick to light things like masala popcorn, bhajia and olive oil...More

We expected more given the Rasika pedigree but left disappointed. The ambience was good but the food was nothing to rave about. It was also extremely noisy that we could barely hear the people at our table. We quizzed the waiter extensively about what my...More

Five of us had a dinner that was simply delicious! We had four small plates - all delicious, the best was the cauliflower. I had the salmon, which was heaven. My husband had minced lamb, also delicious. We had two kinds of Naan. One friend...More

Bindaas features small plates that are easily shared. The kebobs are excellent. Everything we have tried is very good. We especially liked the wild mushroom wrap. The place is cozy and not large. Its sister next door, Sababa, is larger and a bit louder. While...More

I loved this place because it differed from the standard Indian restaurant I’m used to in the UK. This was Indian street food served to be shared and delivered to your table as and when it comes out of the kitchen. I loved the informality...More

Their menu does change quite a bit, but there are always plentiful vegetarian options. Not sure about dairy free.

Description
The name Bindaas means independent, cool, and carefree. Just as we intend our restaurant to be. Located in the Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington, DC James Beard award winning Chef Vikram Sundaram wishes to create food often unavailable here in the USA and cherished in India. Street food is of great cultural importance in India, where for many years the colonization by the British Empire compromised traditional Indian life and culture. Street food is still an important part of life in India helping express the cultural diversity of the country. We invite you to come and experience the vibrant smells and tastes of India.
