I think if you just browse the menu, you will find what I mean with respective classics like Moules, Sole Meuniere, Escargot, Frites, Tartare, Risotto, Pasta... you really can't go wrong. Add to it a great affordable wine selection and you have the basis for...a go-to continental spot. Then add some chef's flourishes and sauce detours coupled with great service - you have a great local place. Casual and comfortable.More

Wonderful, small Belgian restaurant. Mussels were excellent as were other dishes on the menu. Great selection of beers; many Belgian brands. Staff is professional, friendly and attentive. Good value for the quality and ambiance.

At our daughter and son in law’s suggestion we tried this restaurant for a low key 52nd anniversary dinner. We made the reservation on line, and the site asked if it was a special occasion so I checked the anniversary box. When we were seated...the server brought us each a glass of Prosecco, which was a very nice gesture. We shared the sweetbread appetizer which was outstanding, then had the flammande a la carbonnade and the duck confit for main courses - simply delicious! Despite being full we shared the “chefs favorite cake” for dessert - also excellent. The service was terrific and the dining room pleasant.More

We decided to try EtVoila for our traditional Christmas Day dining out event. We are so glad we did!Coming from “ far West” on 66 the trip could not have been easier, very quick and easy to find. Street parking was plentiful, assume it would...be more crowded during non-Holiday time but there was so much street parking available it should still be a doable parking event. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Upon being seated a manager came up right away and asked what we needed to drink. Servers were just as quick and friendly throughout the meal. It’s a small and narrow restaurant but that just meant we had friendly discussions with our fellow diners, who shared their recommendations on items they had ordered. We had onion soup and soup of the day mushroom/ chestnut. Both were excellent, especially the mushroom...and not just taste but presentation. We then shared lobster burger and EtVoila burgers. Again excellent taste and presentation. We ended dinner with the chocolate mousse which was clearly dark chocolate and very rich. The only downside for some diners, not us, was the front door opens direct to the outside and when diners entered/ left cold air blew into the dining area, in spite of the curtain placed in front of the door. Staff quickly turned up heat to accommodate those diners who were uncomfortable. Just another indication of the world class customer service we experienced. We will be back after the Holidays to try other menu items, now that we know the trip into town is easy and given the excellent food and service we experienced.More

This was my 2nd time to EV, and the 2nd visit was as good as the first food-wise. My only complaint is, on the 2nd visit, we were rushed out of there. It was a very busy Friday and people were waiting for tables. We...were not taking a long time eating or ordering, but our waiter whisked my plate away from me before I was finished eating and brought us our bill before our dessert arrived. Apart from that, the experience was good. The food is very good here. We had duck, mussels, fish and flank steak—all were very good. The salads were very good The desserts were also good, although we did feel rushed and that’s never much fun.More

All great restaurants are a combination of three attributes: ambiance, service, and food. But while the first two are important, it is the third, food that keeps people coming back. My wife and I are serious foodies. so when I say that we have made...Et Voila our go-to restaurant in the DC area, it's the food that did that. We recently ate there two nights running and were delighted both times - th seafood is especially good, but so are the steaks. Their rose sparkling wine is a great way to start any evening.More

We went to Et Voila! for the first time for a wine dinner with friends. The dinner was brilliant! Hamachi Tuna ceviche, Sea Bass--and great wines. The restaurant aside from the dinner was packed with very happy diners; lots of regulars from the neighborhood. The...menu looked great--we will be back! Highest recommendation!!More

A best-selling author of spy novels (which I also devour) left, I believe, clues about the identity of Et Voila: "a popular Belgian bistro located on MacArthur Boulevard in Northwest Washington..." with a "narrow dining room" - and so it did not take much sleuthing...on my part to discover Et Voila. Being of Belgian descent, and proud of the quality of Belgian cuisine, I just had to try it. Et Voila is very popular and for all the right reasons: the kitchen is wonderful, the service attentive, and it clearly has the support of a devoted clientele. My dinner partner and I both ordered steaks, which are fairly generic items but they were wonderfully prepared and served with salad and frites. For appetizers, we both had mussels (mine steamed, his baked), which were terrific. The pastry chef is fabulous so for desert we ordered the profiteroles and those - served with a super creamy ice cream - were out of this world. As described, the dining room is in fact very narrow and the seating configuration is limited - so does not have anything to add to the dining experience in terms of atmosphere or privacy - BUT somehow the whole set up contributes to the feeling - shared by everyone dining there - that you have found something pretty special with Et Voila. I can't wait to go back!More
