This is a very popular bar that I think survives on a reputation for it's classic drink which is a rum, honey and lemon juice mix served in a little clay pot. There'll be a resident band playing traditional music at one end of the...More

Au bar La Canchánchara, on vient pour siroter ce cocktail à base de jus de citron, de miel et de rhum, tout en écoutant des musiques traditionnelles et entraînantes. English version At the bar La Canchánchara, we come to sip this cocktail based of lemon...More

I would say the Canchanchars drink is overrated. It is rum with some lemon and honey. It uses a "pure" rum that has almost no flavor - aguardiente. Sadly, it almost like vodka, I tried it straight and it is perfectly clear with no molasses...More

I have no idea why tourists like this place, especially because of the taste of chanchanchera- which was the worst I had in 15 days in Cuba. It's over-rated, over-priced, too crowded, and with really negative attitude of staff. Wouldn't bother spending my time there,...More

The specialty drink, Chanchanchara with aguardiente and honey costs 3.00 CUC, a little high for a cheap drink but worth it to hear the great band playing there.

I stopped by here to try the local rum drink and was not disappointed. The live music was great too and it was the best place to relax with my drink while a short rain shower happened

Nothing special and a bit touristy. It was a pleasant place to get out of the sun and have a cocktail but that was about it.

Our host recommended us to go there, as apparently it's a family owned, and it's one of the oldest. The music was very very loud, but the drink tasted like heaven. Make sure you don't stir all the honey as it can get really sweet....More
