This restaurant certainly has character! From the rustic furniture to the ancient radios, the AC/DC posters to the pokies out the back, the generous servings to the basic wait staff this was a meal of contradictions. We had battered fish (orange roughy) and lamb backstrap - they were both delicious but were served without any real care that it was... More

Not haute cuisine but probably one of the most generous servings of good food anywhere in Picton. Reasonable wine selection and good service from the staff. On a wet and miserable night this quirky restaurant offered everything a weary traveller required; warmth and generosity.

Certainly not a la carte- but boy can the chef produce some great food. Roast lamb - Superb! We both had the lamb and wanted more.

This is the Cobham & Co of Picton and I mean that in a good way. Generous meal sizes with a standard variety on the menu. Partner had the Roast Lamb and vegetables which at $18 was very good value. I had soup of the day, creamy pumpkin which was acceptable. The only suggestion would be to have a few... More

We dined here on our last night in the South Island and had a great meal. Good food, friendly staff. The sticky date pudding is amazing :-)

I ate the roast lamb dinner here and it was delicious. The lamb was tasty and tender - perfectly cooked! Nice atmosphere with lots of interesting photos and retro items on display.

Great little place with lots of locals eating there. We had the daily roast when we here a few weeks ago and it is a bargain and excellent. In the middle of winter, it is good to find a warm and inviting place. Writing this review before we eat their again tonight.

I am so glad you enjoyed your meal. Many people have told us that they believe the roast to be the best of our meals and the best in Picton. More

Today was my wife's birthday and she chose to go the Barn for lunch. We both had the fish of the day which was orange roughy, served with amazing chips and salad and we order an egg with it. Everything was cooked beautifully and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant was lovely and warm and the staff were very friendly.... More
