Our first afternoon in Picton. Stopped for a coffee and the table next to us ordered pizza. The smell was so good had to order. Well worth it. And the location has a view over the harbour. Delightful!

Thanks for your lovely review of our restaurant. We love our wonderful view of Picton Harbour in any weather and work hard to offer great food and service to compliment this. Our pizzas are very popular and we are glad you enjoyed yours. We look forward to seeing you here again. More

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, prompt service. Great hot chocolate, arrives hot. Seating inside or out so you may watch the harbour.

You can get a real salad with fresh greens here, nice local wines, really good coffee, and perfectly prepared fish, right across the street from the park and harbor. Eat outside if you can, and try the roasted potatoes instead of the fries.

A cool little seaside cafe with delicious tapas and seafood on the dinner menu. The staff were excellent and everything a reasonable price.

We visited Cafe Cortado once before and twice after walking the Queen Charlotte track. Each time we tried different dishes (almost true - there was one double up) and each was excellent. Simple food just done well. There were two evening ears and one lunch. The outside area in the sun was lovely. Service was efficient and pleasant/engaging and pricing... More

Located in the dead Centre of town and with a nice view over the harbor, Cafe Cortardo is a go to for passers by looking for a meal. Full disclosure: we only had dessert here. Happily, it was Good Friday and they also sold us a bottle of wine - yippee! We had a chocolate fondant which was well executed,... More

Had an early dinner, ordered as soon as the dinner menu was available.the seafood chowder was one of the better ones tasted anywhere, the paella was tasty and well cooked but overdone with the supermarket purchased chorizo. Both were served with warm and crisp ciabatta bread, the service was prompt and friendly.

Just popped in here for a drink and spot of people watching. Saw the next table get the seafood platter and there was no going back. Excellent dish, no stodgy batters, just a range of delicious fish and shellfish. Good service, friendly, great setting

Picton, as a jumping off point for the ferry to Wellington, a backpacker centre and transit point for Malborough Sounds hikes and yachting is a pleasant country town. Most of the cafes and restaurants cater for backpackers. The Cortado Cafe is one of the more sophisticated eateries in town, and worth a visit for a meal and or drink.
