A nice place to eat

We stumbled around Picton looking for decent food. Rejecting all of the early 1990's inspired menus, and indifferent wait staff we encountered, we decided to try this. First - I have no idea where the "management supplied" photo on trip advisor comes from - but it sure is not this restaurant. It... read more

Just not up to the standard of many of the Indian restaurants in CHCH or maybe we were spoilt by a visit to the fantastic Spice Room in Wanaka earlier in the year. The menu is not extensive but that is fine. I had butter chicken which was in a tomato sauce which tasted very much like tomato soup. Not... More

Went there to eat and ordered two dishes and some plain rotis ...Dishes were very ordinary and lamb was so hard and dry that needed stronger teeth in order to cope with it !! Not a good experience over all ...

Prompt service, tasty food, consistent with Indian we have had in other places. It was noted that a wine cooler was not provided for white wine that we brought in. Over all, no complaints.

Just a few doors up from the main shopping strip so still walking distance from everything. Has great food. Recommend it.

Walked through town on a Monday night looking for the best place to eat but, as we were partly through a long journey, we ran out of energy by the time we came to this restaurant. Found the interior a bit sad looking and the waitress was dressed very casually including a grubby sweatshirt. Asked for mild vegetarian options but... More

Went there for a meal while in Picton. All of the food was delicious and the Honey Chili Chicken was an excellent choice. The Onion Kulchas were nice and soft and tasted great.

The outside of the restaurant is misleading since it lacks an inviting look however the inside makes up for it in more ways than one. We've had Indian food our whole lives but nothing like the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala here!

We enjoyed quick, friendly service and a really nice Indian-influenced decor. Our fish and coriander curry was perfectly cooked with fresh fish. Very family-friendly, I couldn't believe how quickly they brought out our meals, which makes a big difference with young children. The highlight was the masala chai, which was full of cloves and cardamom and I think fresh ginger,... More
