There really isn't anything wrong with this place. Starts with extremely friendly and service oriented service crew, followed by delectable hot tasty food (super fresh fish) & cute little sparrows waiting to snatch a morsel of bread. Oh, did I not mention the gorgeous view of the bay? Come here with a loved one, keep the kids at home or... More

This restaurant had lovely ambience and was overlooking the sea. The menu featured mostly local produce. I had Grouper with Tuatua, sea lettuce, Japanese Pesto, horseradish and beach herbs, which was totally delicious.

We had a lovely dinner at the Trading Rooms on a recent trip to Akaroa. The food was modern, interesting, and put together some great flavours while not over-complicating the nice local produce. I had beautiful salmon for a main and apple tarte tatin to finish, and hubbie rated the market fish and chocolate fondant very highly. The atmosphere was... More

Stopped here for lunch on a day trip to Akaroa. We ordered the seafood platter for 2. The platter contained a stack of dry bread, overcooked fish (which i swear was frozen), calamari and mussels. It was servered with sundried tomotaoes. The whole thing had absulotely no flavour so we asked for some tartare sauce. The tartare was the best... More

Dinner here was artistically presented by friendly interesting staff. Interesting combinations of ingredients made a delicious meal. Lovely historic building right on Akaroa's waterfront. Enjoyed our chat with our Polish pharmacist waitress.

Visited last weekend. Lots of room in this lovely old building. My Husband had the duo of Pork which is a portion of belly and a portion of cheeks. Himself approved and said he would have it again if we returned. I had Eye Fillet which although I asked med to well done was way over cooked. Very tough and... More
