we had lunch from here both days we were in Akaroa. Once on sit where we sat outside which was lovely with great view. The second day we took away and ate on our balcony with a glass of wine. The food was good, service fine and efficient, and prices reasonable.

L'Escargo Rouge is a small cafe with seating squeezed inside. I did expect a few more French style choices in their cabinets considering the cafe name and the reputation of Acaroa. The coffee wasn't great and the slices we chose were pretty ordinary. I wouldn't bother going there again.

Very good cabinet food selections. The staff are friendly and helpful. The scones are of a generous size and very good. The hot chocolate was great. No pies left but the sausage rolls were ok. On this visit we chose to take away our food and drinks. Service was quick. The cafe was very clean and hygienic. Right across from... More

When we first entered the Deli we were sent to the restaurant down the road for a gluten free selection. My friend wanted a pie from the deli so we went back there and I was then offered a Glutenfree salmon and potato frittata. This I chose and it was tasty and plenty for the cost. The staff were welcoming... More

Stopped in for a coffee which was great. All the food was baked on the premises and the service was friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

We had great food, drinks and service here- definitely the most reasonably priced place in Akaroa. Great selection of food and their pastries are good.

Dropped in for a quick coffee and became addicted to their home made date scones. They were yummy. The staff are efficient and very friendly.

We came for coffee (which was excellent) but ended up with an ice cream as well. I had rudge ice cream which was excellent.

My family and I had lunch here today, and it was great. The filo wrap was particularly good. Prices were reasonable, and the outdoor seating was perfect! Sunny, no wind, and the birds were out in force. Kept the kid entertained, but watch your plates. They'll steal food off your fork if you give them a chance.

This a nice café by the lake, sandwiches are under $10 and coffee is around $4, their sandwiches are really tasty, only negative point is there are no toilets here, you have to go and find a public one.
