Its small and intimate - so book. Wait staff were superb - attentive and friendly. Our wine was decanted and poured for us. The menu is limited but varied and ...oh....the food ...it's exceptional! It's a special place to go to - not really for children. Highly recommend it.

Dined as a couple. Very small eating space which adds to the atmosphere of your dinner. Quite expensive but the food was to die for!

I reviewed this restaurant a year ago, not long after the new owners took over. I have dined here regularly during the year and want to say they are still maintaining an excellence in food preparations and tastes, wine selection and professional friendly wait staff. But wait ... there's more ... Test Kitchen on a Thursday evening ... a 3... More

It was in a word AWESOME The food, the wine, the service, even the bread! We had gnocchi & beef Bourgogne, then the Sticky Date. Nothing can be said wasn't flawless. Pricy wine list, but worth the effort Enjoy

One of our favorite restaurants to visit. My wife being French is very apprehensive when a restaurant claims to be French. But this little bistro really hits the mark. Traditional French dishes with modern creative twists, most of the produce is sourced locally. We walked past twice during the day on both occasions locals were dropping in produce to the... More

We visited the quaint little restaurant on their Tasting Night (Thurs). This is a three course set menu where the chef tries out different combinations of food and ideas. It was sensational. All the food is locally sourced and fresh. Bookings are essential as it is a tiny bistro

We had a fantastic dinner in this cute and cosy restaurant. From first course to dessert we went from surprise to surprise, the cuisine being original yet very fine. As a Frenchman I felt a little at home and on the other hand I enjoyed a totally new experience, like only exceptional restaurants can offer. Service was also very kind.

Pretty looking little place, with great reviews, but we were distinctly underwhelmed. We booked ages in advance, but got the most cramped table you've ever seen, with wonky legs (or maybe it was the floor that was wonky - either way it was irritating) and was absolutely freezing every time the door opened. The service was rapid, but oh dear,... More

We shared a delicious entree of clams and bread and both ordered lamb for our main. This is a fantastic restaurant. Our waitress Tuesday was attentive and sweet. The food was excellent quality and the restaurant itself has a lovely cosy ambience. It is gourmet food with no pretence! We would happily visit again!

Overview: Brilliant food, fantastic service, attentive waitstaff, good atmosphere. Dined here on a weekend visit to Akoroa. Couldn't have been more impressed. Food: The food came out quickly, all 3 courses were delicious (snails, venison crepes, lamb, pumpkin gnocchi and the lemon posset for dessert) and cooked to perfection. The portions arent huge but the emphasis is on quality over... More
