Local restaurant run by Portuguese family. Prompt service, low prices and nice staff. Highly recommended if you want to eat local food!

Having tried 2 of the higher rated eating establishments in Tavira this is the first to satisfy. The food was good and the price very reasonable, service was fine and friendly.

This restaurant does not look particularly impressive from the outside, but its popularity is witness to the quality of food and excellent value. As stated on other reviews, as well as for lunch, the restaurant opens at 7pm for evening meals and is pretty full by about 7.20pm - so go early or later when the early diners are starting... More

A very popular and busy local restaurant. Buzzing atmosphere lunch and dinner alike. Very extensive menu, both fish and meat. A return visit for us. We started off with the usual bread and olives, wine and a large bottle of water. We chose one of the dishes of the day, of which they had several. Excellent value at 6 euros... More

Great Veal and wonderful service. Very busy place. Met other guests who had been there before and they were happy too.

Ate lunch here twice - return visits. Busy, typical Portuguese almost canteen style restaurant. On both occasions had the prato do dia at 6 euros. We sampled a range of dishes including cod, cataplana and pork. All were very pleasant. Not haute cuisine BUT very good. Highly recommended but be prepared to queue - it IS worth it!

Ate here twice, crowed but not a long wait for a table. Good service and good food.house white wine tends to be fizzy so if that's not your choice order a bottle from the menu.price great less than €50 for four people.will be back.p

We arrived a little before 7pm on a Wednesday evening and were surprised to find a queue already! Within 30 minutes of being seated the restaurant was 80% full so this alone gave us an indication that we were in for an excellent dinner. The menu is typically Portuguese with a good variety of meat and fish dishes. We had... More

Very good food for a good price. I've been to Casa Simao twice on my vacation and I'm very happy with the food. Good taste, big portions and well prepared, like home made.

This place is always packed at lunchtime but well worth it if you can get a table. We got there quite late for lunch, had to wait a bit for a table to be cleared but cheerful waiter then seated us and left the menus. The couvert is quite ordinary, usual bread, olives and sardine pate out of a plastic... More
