First went to Casarao (or Xicos) two years ago and returning again this month. We love it here. It is a homely. family run business with great food. For plain eaters like my kids they always have the grilled chicken, rice and chips, always a steak for me and fish for my wife. We never had any reason to complain.... More

This is a great restaurant, serving local meat and fish, always well served and superbly home-cooked. The house wine is very good also. We eat here at least once or twice every month and have never been disappointed.

First visit was quite late after touching down in Faro at 19.00 plus and travelling to Tavira, settling in efc. Our sort of Restaurant - totally authentic,(i.e. clean but not 'posh') more locals than tourists, hustle, bustle and excellent food and drink for a pittance. The Dourada was brilliant, as were all of the fish dishes and whilst we did not... More

Excellent family run resteraunt, booking is advised for outdoor area, beautiful fish, lamb, pork, chicken, served with 'real' chips or potatoes, lovely salads, would recommend house red served in carafe, excellent value served by a very friendly team.

Happy friendly atmosphere, food brilliant with rustic surroundings. A great experience. Get there early or be prepared to queue. Even if you queue, it's well worth the wait.

Went on a Wednesday night to celebrate our friend's birthday. Quite busy with locals so we were happy that we had booked. We had the usual couvert of bread, butter and sardine pate. My partner opted for the belly pork, I had dourada and our friends shared a large sea bass. We all opted for chips rather than potatoes. We... More

Just posted a review on caserau snack bar by mistake. Please see this. This place is great.located just down from the Venezuela bakery. All fish, Meats, shell fish and vegetables are fresh and local. Cooked simply but very, very well. Try the prawns to share as a starter. Wild boar stew is great, as are the lamb dishes. Veal in... More

We ate here 2 nights for dinner and loved everything about it. The service was great. Our waiter spoke good english and explained everything to us and arranged the order of the dishes perfectly. The second night he suggested cuttelfish and clams cooked in garlic and olive oil. Both were amazing! The rabbit stew was also cooked perfectly and tender.... More

A typical Portuguese eatery. Good food with good prices and non of the fancy fripparies. Friday is Lamb shank day but you would be well advised to call in or telephone at Lunch time and reserve this dish if you want to be certain of getting it.
